What's funny is how haters trying to prove themselves right has overshadowed the whole point of being a fan around here. I think sometimes we forget we're all on the same side.
why don't you tell that to all the folks that decided to mock, discredit, and yell at me for saying these things in the first place? even though they had no basis for doing so? surely i get to say "i told you so" at least once after all that?
McGrady's not on our side. The whole point of being a fan is to want your team to do well. T-Mac's a cancer and he's hurting the Rockets.
wouldn't saying he's a regular at his work also "out" him to the team?? i'm not sure where you work, but if team staff/players, etc really do read the board then they'll probably know or find out..
Don't worry about it. Some of these guys have really and I'm really stretched the limits of rational thought in order to keep supporting this guy. I'm not sure if they are just young scrubs who value individual players over the team or if they realized they were backing a bum for so long that they have decided to just go down with the ship instead of admitting they were wrong. Either way, it looks like common sense is prevailing no matter how hard some people fought it.
The "haters" are certainly being a lot classier about the whole thing. Any time Tracy scored more than 15 points the past couple of years, you'd have like eight or nine threads started by his fan club telling us how we got owned and needed to STFU.
Don't know if "the haters" are right or not, but I do know that there are whole lot more of them than there used to be! Call me one, I guess. I went to the press conference welcoming T-Mac to Houston; he used to be my favorite player; no longer. I guess I got filled with "hatin'" somewhere along the way.
thanks all. sorry, totally didnt mean to make this a personal thread. back to the point - it's nice to get confirmation from people close to this situation that it is indeed teh way we have been portraying it on this forum. does anyone else find it completely fitting that tracy is injured again, right before the trading deadline? things that make you say hmm . . .
Remember when we got T-Mac how all the Orlando fans were warning us about him? I didn't believe them. Maybe we "haters" were actually "lovers" back then and now we have become "realists."
Message boards are full of idiots, shrug them off. Its just that I hear "i told you so's" about 100 times a day so it all kind of runs together.
all im asking for is to make it out of the first round. tmac can pretend to be injured all he wants, as long as he's ready to contribute in the post season. then trade his ending contract this summer for a piece we can build around.
That classiness doesn't include humility, evidently. I kid. (talking to ClutchFans in general). Yes, it was obviously annoying as hell. How about we stop doing the same thing in exact opposite fashion? Believe it or not there are people that haven't picked a side for McGrady... because b****ing from an armchair doesn't affect reality! News! Talking about his diagnoses and lamenting his subpar performances is all well and good, but this petty "omg wtf u r not acknowledging that I was right and must be so0O much smarter than you!" **** is beyond annoying. Good lord. As negative as you are about McGrady, AntiSonic, you are generally factual and aren't too concerned if anyone pats you on the back. I'm tired of the people that are.
and making fun of "those people" is more mature i take it? heaven forbid some of us decide to share the work that we do as rockets fans with a community that is supposed to care about the team. heaven forbid we expect a little credit for digging underneath the rumors and bullcrap to perhaps discuss things with some small element of truth underneath them. and instead of "oh, cool, information i had not considered, thanks" we get "you are obviously a stupid hater or someone who thinks he is sooooo00 much smarter than everyone else". and apparently we get to sit through thinly veiled passive aggressive mockery in posts like this as well.
