Yeah but I also think Ime just doesnt reveal everything to the press. He knows when he is at fault or at least his team prob discuss it behind the scenes.

Just look at how much ball movement there is now compared to start of the season and how quickly Jalen and FVV are told to make their move during a play.

Things like the double big lineup IMO Ime does try new things and tries to adjust it just takes him a long time ti make changes and he doesnt disclose it to the press.

Nobody was intentionally "not defending or turning the ball over" last night. Players make mistakes. Ime gives certain players more license to make mistakes. It's odd to me that Sengun was benched for so much of the game when the team was pretty terrible overall. It's a strange decision to bench your best overall player when your second-best player is injured and unavailable. Ime Udoka twisted his own arm and then cried uncle.

Amazingly, we won overtime because of Sengun. I don't think Sengun learned any lessons from his benching other than his coach is temperamental and often illogical. Ime doesn't seem to punish Tari or Amen when they make terrible decisions. It's not common for a coach to bench his best player. Ime does it too often.

Very good question. Definitely a glaring pattern. Lets see what Ime comes up with in hi 'preparations'.

All I care about are long-term trends and results. We're number two in the West with an extremely young group and a year ahead of schedule. He's doing great and so is the team, some people fault find but don't praise, it's strange or an agenda IMO.

Fans will always complain when a coach doesn't do something quick enough or does it for too long. CF has a habit of wanting to constantly tinker when coaches prefer to see how things play out.

Um, no. His "best player" is his worst defender and he was the main reason we were getting flamed. Grimes would've had 50+ had Sengun been left in. I'm GLAD he was benched and eventually Sengun will need to improve his individual defense

My 2 cents is he won't get much (if any) better at defending smaller players on the perimeter.

What Alpi must do is attack and destroy these same guys on the other end of the floor when they try to guard him. Every time there is a mouse, he should immediately attack instead of waiting for the double-team and looking to pass. IMO, his hesitation and slowness after receiving the ball in scoring position is his biggest weakness.

Interesting to me the examples of former 'fringe' players that go on to coaching and scouting...probably gives you a powerful combo of humility and expertise. In fact it might be harder to find examples of star players in any sport that went on to successful FO / head coach roles...esp if they were more cerebral types to make up for lack of athleticism. The Brad Gilbert 'Winning Ugly" types (the ballsy tennis reference on a nba board)

How many turnovers did Alpi have before being benched? They were shooting over him or driving by him… we needed to spread the court and open the paint cause we weren’t coming back hitting 2s to their 3s

He did his job on the Bari miss and helped in OT ..we got the win, and we move on to the next game

It is bizarre to me how much people complain about Ime around here. Three years of garbage with Silas, and Ime turns us around in a blink, and people are poking holes? I'd get it if we had some team of seasoned veterans ready to grab a title right now, and they kept failing to get over the hump for years... but this is the youngest team in the league and we were hot garbage, like, yesterday. Sports fans are incorrigible.

This is a major oversimplification of how good leadership works.

I don't agree with this at all. Sengun came out completely lackadaisical and he has done that in plenty of games especially right at the start. Ime was teaching our young players a lesson by showing them that anyone who is willing to come in and work hard is going to play. Sengun needs to be aggressive from the start because he is the focal point of our offense and he is our best player (allstar). I would rather lose with Ime teaching our players about accountability than win with the Stephen-Silas pushover mentality.

If he didn't bench him when he played poorly people complain he is a pushover. When he actually does punish players for not doing their job they complain that he is the best player and should play.

Most of the people complaining about Ime also don't propose any solutions and have no good alternatives. If it were up to these people we would still be winning <20 games per season.

It is bizzare to me that the Rockets spent $43mil on FVV, $23mil on Dillon Brooks, $8mil on Landale and Jeff Green, and $7mil on Ime Udoka, and fans somehow believe it's the guy getting paid the least who should get all the credit (or blame in the case of Silas). And conveniently ignore the fact that Silas was giving those minutes to the likes of Nix, Garuba, Christopher, TyTy, guys Stone salary dumped in an instant in the offseason.

It's very obvious that some of you guys are looking for any reason not to like Ime Udoka.
