IIRC, Artest's wife is his childhood sweetheart and they met at 14-15 year old. A woman can stay with Artest for so long and dare to hit Artest certainly has craziness in her soul.
from what i remember, he said congrats on getting the new job or something to that effect. he then asked, so whats next? (after james-howard trade obviously) ....thats when Adelman supposedly made the comment about Morey not wanting the trade but that he and Les were for it. He also supposedly told him that Artest was a good guy when he coached him. i knew about this but didnt want to start a thread about it due to the flaming that occurs around here. im just posting now since its been brought up. dont hate on me
Your evaluation is skewed toward the offense. With an even balancing of Offense and Defense, i would say that Artest ranks up there.
Probably because those "negotiations" are over. They obviously can't go blabbering all over about who they are pursuing. I don't see any problem with talking about who they're not pursuing.
Guys I just ran into Adelman who was eating a Grand Slam Breakfast at Denny's and he was raving about Steve Novak - look for the Rockets to make him their star player at PF if they can't move him for Garnett.
That's BS, buddy. Everyone here knows that RA ONLY talks at SB. You're lying and I'm calling you out.
lol rumers everywhere. If Les wants it and Adelman wants it then Simsalabim! Poof it shall be done. Morey will be sulking in the corner
Artest does not have the pure talent that puts him in the top 10. He's a beast on defense, but he is not the focal point of the offense, which does not allow him to create for others like everyone else on that list with the possible exception of dwight howard.
I think That coach a read my post so that He want to keep V-span and to get Ron. Just a Joke, but I feel I do have some basketball sense.
If the Rockets can really get Artest for VSpan, Snyder, & the 1st round pick and they don't they are STUPID. He is under contract for 1 more year and then has an option for the next year. So there is vitually no risk. Even if he implodes you're giving up next to nothing and can get rid of him next year. HOWEVER, if the guy likes it here and keeps his head on straight you are geting a top talent in the league, and Adelman has experience working with him. You add Artest and James to this team and their toughness makes up for how soft Yao and Tmac are...
This is a joke. Adelman would never say he wanted Artest but Morey wants to keep VSpan to a random person at Starbucks. The farthest those conversations will ever go is the fan saying "Hey coach try to get whoever the player they want is" and the Coach saying "We'll see what happens" or something ot that nature. He's not going to go into detail like that in public knowing it could hit the internet or something. in fact, this bs in on here right now. There are some fans who are reading this and believing it.
I agree. Someone isn't being totally honest. One of them is either outright lying, is being misled, or the original story was exaggerated a little bit. There is no way a coach would discuss personnel with some random fan at Starbucks and even if he did, he certainly wouldn't throw his gm under the bus.
Who knows, maybe he's totally f***ing with the guy, he tells him his real plan, but knows that no one will ever believe him because he has no proof. Adelman, you are one cunning son of your mother, I tip my hat to you.
so Sacto would take Span, Snyder and a pick for Artest... but Houston doesn't like the risk... Miami wants Artest bad, but Sacto don't think Haslem is enough value for him... I can see a nice 3-way deal working out here...question is does Houston management?
Ok, how about this: Knock knock who's there? sammy sammy who? sammy some internet poster who has a grudge stemming from something you can't remember!
