If CCTV chooses to broadcast earthquake rescue for 500 hours non-stop and stop all other shows, what is the problem? CNN and FOX spend a whole month on Florida recount, which is a joke compare to events like this.

I don't want to get into your pissing match with SeriousCritic. But did you read my former posts (#34).

Once again, Newble made that comment in May 2007. The date on your calender at this moment of time is May 2008. Why would they wait one whole year to "make an example" of it during a national disaster? Think.

    thanks.

at least my sharon stone reference is recent!

I hope they didn't cancel the NBA playoffs because of her too. Maybe she showed up to a Lakers game.

Sharon Stone and Ira Newble can say and do anything that they want in US.

However, Chinese people can say and do anything that they want in China too.

If you are fine with what Sharon Stone and Ira Newble do, then you also should be fine with what chinese people do.

there is no problem. there's only the question on why and who can really explain it. do you work for CCTV? did they officially say we are dumping the NBA games.

Usually in the US, you get this "our regularly scheduled program will not be shown instead .."

And screw the idiots rating this thread. its a freaking news article not something I made up. its not a 5 star or 1 star, its a repost of a cnnsi article.

And if you hate Transor Z, you suck.

ok this makes sense. But I know the Lakers are popular in China.

Didn't Kobe get like a billion fans when he can over there for some Nike promotion?

yeah, that picture i posted was of Sharon Stone

you need to widen your movie watching horizons and judge the movie not what individual actor's political/religious views are.

if some dude who played one of the ewoks was tibetan would you stop watching Star Wars?

I think Total Recall, Basic Instinct and Casino were her best movies, after that I think it was down hill.

In fact, it is not about Stone's past, it is about her future. I think this event will limit her chance to play in new movies. For Stone, this is not about politics, instead, it is about business!

    I don't live in China.

I love summer time threads, they slowly diverge into arguments and pissing matches all across the board! Ehh, its how we deal with losing to Utah....

Wow, someone said in another thread that the only possible reason he could think of is Newble's comment more than 1 year ago. Then someone else ran with it and now you guys are talking like it is a confirmed fact that what Newble said 12 months ago is the reason for what something is happening now 12 months later. Amazing. Can people get even more stupid than that?
