ESPN's Ric Bucher just reported the Knicks and Blazers are close to a deal that would send the Knicks Theo Ratliff and Darius Miles and the Blazers would get Anfernee Hardaway and a future 1st.

Nope ... but how often do you think they'll call him "Stevie Knicks"?

I'm still floored to think that Jalen Rose, Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis could all be on the same team. It screams of such a bad idea for New York that I'm actually starting to think it can't hurt. Isiah has dropped them so low and they are cap-screwed already for so many years that swapping Crawford for Francis could only be viewed as an upgrade (because it can't get worse). Who knows .... maybe Larry Brown could devise a system to take advantage of having two talented guards like that.

If Isiah lands Francis and makes excuses again about how bad the situation was when he started there (as he has done every time, including the recent Rose deal), I think he should be fired on the spot. No one has had more financial backing and more carte blanche than this guy, and the Knicks are a complete crash and burn in the 2 years he has been there. I couldn't even imagine the anguish of watching my team knowing the GM traded away the next two years of lotto picks.

Do the Knicks even have any more future 1st rounders? Why are they dumping an expiring contract AND a 1st rounder for Portland's trash? Just another in a long line of grotesque deals by Zeke.

I think Isiah is actually trying to make Larry Brown insane.

Marbury & Francis & QRich together for 2 weeks and I imagine LB in a rubber room saying

    play the right way...
    play the right way...
    play the right way...
    play the right way...
15 minutes to Wheel of Fortune...

Isiah's plan is to accumulate as many talent as possible.

Somebody will want a SF3 later.

If a team with SF, Cat, Cato, MoT can win more than 40 games,
why can't a team with SF, Marbury, Curry win more than 40 games?

This scares me, because if Francis is a Knick, then he could easy be traded to the Rockets like all Knicks.

Does this mean that if Starbury kills Franchise, he will absorb Steve-O's otherworldly dribblemania powers?

WTH is everyone seeing in Hardaway? Isn't he washed up?

If that 1st rounder by the Knicks turns out to be a high pick this year, then I guess it's a good trade by the JailBlazers....

I think it has more to do with expiring contracts

    Per Bogey:

"The problem with that is Steve doesn't know how to run and gun. I'm not sure why people act like he does."

Steve can run and gun - though not direct a team - he can only do it by himself and turn the ball over

Oh, so Marbury can yell to Francis ""I'm a real All-Star. I don't have to get voted on" everyday when they see each other in practice. Nice.

The max contract that comes off the books this summer.

The pick they're trading couldn't be earlier than their 2008 pick, if I'm correct. This year's pick goes to Chicago, and they therefore must keep their 2007 pick (which will likely be swapped for Chicago's).
