See, I take "'I'm happy because I got a picture and he shook my hand,' he said." to mean "That was cool, but I'm still disappointed because I didn't really get what I wanted."

You're apparently taking it to mean "I'm completely satisfied with the way things turned out." I don't feel as if that is the case in this situation.

The guy's telling the media that he bought a ticket just to see Bonds, and Bonds can't sign the ball for him? It just makes Bonds look silly.

I agree with tinman, if he would have given him a reason, that would have been one thing.

Just one cup of tea this morning. Sorry I interrupted the bashing of an easy target. Have fun!

I'm not going to argue what the guy is implying by saying that oh-so-misleading word happy. If this had been any other player, no one would have thought twice about it. Say what you want about Barry being a cheater, a jackhole to the media (oh, the poor media!) or his former teammates (Jeff Kent's a saint!), Lord knows there's plenty of ammunition. But criticizing him for this is just desperate.

    Barry Bonds > Vernon Maxwell.

Forgot that people think you drank too much caffeine,
you must be on cocaine or herion
to think that Barry Bonds is any which way or form better than
a great citizen like Vernon Maxwell.

Maxwell didn't need ROIDS to drop 30pts on the phoenix suns in game 3 when the Rockets were labeled 'choke city'.

Maxwell didn't need ROIDS to win a championship.

    Plus Maxwell didn't need ROIDS.
Maxwell has something Bonds dreams of :
    a championship
    a regular size head

So is criticizing those who are criticizing him. Why are you so vehemently defending him?

If this was anyone else it wouldn't be a problem because they would have signed the ball. Contractual reasons aside, why wouldn't you sign it?

Has Bonds ever quit on his team? When was the last time Bonds went up into the stands to punch an opposing team's fan? Plus, there was the time when one of my best friends witnessed him punching his wife back in '94 (girlfriend was their babysitter).

I'm "vehemently" defending him because even the guy who didn't get the autograph was happy. His words, not mine. If that guy is happy, then what's the problem?

Yep, you're right. Barry Bonds is the first player ever to not sign an autograph.

    Vernon Maxwell Championships 1
    Barry Bond Championships 0

Maxwell never cheated. I'm glad Maxwell did that. Anyone who insults your family should get 'maxwelled'.

whatever dude, she just witness some rough foreplay.

what do you think he would have done? calling him a fat head jerk!?
I would taken that freaking ball and thrown in the water.

i'm surprised Barry didnt try to steal the ball from him.

He's the first player not to sign a ball that is close to Babe Ruth's HR record.
He's the first player to diss a fan on his own freaking reality show.
He's the first player on ROIDS who won't sign a baseball to a US Serviceman who claims to be HIS FAN.

Please do a Google image search for "Barry Bonds Autographs". You will see pictures of him signing autographs for fans. Ohmygosh, Satan himself signing autographs?!?!?!!?!

BTW, a quick phone call to my brother in-law, who has attended Giants spring training in Scottsdale says that he's seen Bonds sign autographs numerous times.

why is he any greater of a cheater than the rest of the MLB players who were doing the exact same thing?

pete rose wasn't the hitter bonds was. even before bonds became the masher he became late in his career.

I still maintain that anyone over the age of 15 who wants an autograph from a professional sports player is either:

    a) going to sell it on Ebay
    b) suffering from severe emotional problems stemming from childhood
