The fact is that both the Rockets and the CBA have something to do with Yao's injury: that's the only two places he played basketball, right? Do you want to know who I think should be blamed also? The Rockets' team doctor. He should have studied stress fracture, which is unique to big men like Yao, and warned the coach and managment of the Rockets, even the CBA, early. If he didn't do that, he has failed his job. If he did, which I doubt, then RA is the main person to blame. Besides to blame that Yao is Yao, of course.
blame, blame, blame Yao's shoes while we are at it. 37 min a game, 5 games in the summer and trainning, is that too much for an pro athelets? It's just Yao's freaking nature, and big frame. We have all been enjoying what that nature brought us, it's payback time. This world is fair.
Please tell me you're joking. Yao playing in the Olympics is for "the good of the few?" Get over yourself. How about all those Chinese people who want more than ANYTHING for Yao to represent his country and play in the Olympics? How about Yao HIMSELF wanting more than anything to play in the Olympics? I can't believe all the Rockets fans we have on this board who seem incapable of thinking about anything Yao wants besides, well... the Rockets. The guy has other things in his life, too. He plays way, way more games for us than he plays for his country. And when the Olympics come around, something that happens ONCE EVERY 4 YEARS, you bash China for overplaying him?
If you want Yao to play for China, then don't let him play in the NBA. If you want Yao to play in the NBA, then you can't expect him to play for the Chinese team at the same freaking time. That is like forcing someone to do two full time jobs!! Totally ridiculous. In the end, I would say 90% of the blame is on the Chinese government!
In other words, China try to have it both ways, which is impossible, and Yao and his fans are paying the price !!
