Cassell would be great for this team or any other team contending for the title, you need a deep bench with the grind of an NBA schedule. Just look at us and how mediocre we became with either T-Mac or Yao out. You also need the guys to have played together as a team for a while to have any success in the league, we have started the past 2 seasons horribly in part because of the need to gel.

If we finish strong this season with this group then CD should think about going to war next season with the core of DW, Rafer, JHO/Swift, McGrady and Yao intact and only make tweaks and additions to the lineup next season and not trade away anybody from the core of this team.

You forgot to say that Les fired JVG in the summer and re-hired Rudy as the coach just for the sake of it. ;)

Sam Cassell would be a great fit for the Rockets if we can get better in other areas, such as a more physical power forward. I think if Sam wouldnt mind being the Back up, Les should make it happen.

With Shaun Livingston waiting in the wings, no way Sterling gives Sam much money. So Sam to the Rockets could happen. Could he play some at the SG spot? Doubt if he could guard SGs, however.
