Kubiak thinks we are gonna win over 10 games, per a conversation overheard at MMP by many people last night.
In his defense, he could probably get a starting job on a crappy team if he wanted to. But there was an article last week saying he would rather be the backup on a good team, since he's already tried that 'starter on a crappy team' role...and it didn't end well.
Random side info (about another former Texan). I have heard through the grapevine that Dom Capers is going to be a head coach again, as close to Houston as he could get. At a brand-new college program. My alma mater, Lamar, is (if you believe the rumors) about to announce the return of the football program for the 2009 season. (They've been working toward it for several years.) Apparently, Capers is the coach of choice, because he likes the area and has connections on the Board of Regents.

bring it! i think they'll be MUCH improved. i think they're gonna surprise people here. i'm excited about it.
I actually worked at the plant in the first photo. (ExxonMobil's catalyst plant, really out there, high-tech stuff goes on there. But the third photo is a nuke plant in England. None of those in Beaumont. But apparently Beaumont gets in your blood. I came back.
I will root for whatever team Carr ends up with ~ I support him that much as a person and the great QB that he has always been.
Wrong Forum. DAMN, even I say that sh*t. C'mon... no longer in a Texans' uniform... why not say that...? See, MadMax? I get it, too. I hope Carr proves everyone how wrong they were. Damn you, Offensive Line coaches.
I was hoping to ignite the powder keg (which happens in EVERY Carr thread), but no one bit. This time. I will have my revenge, though.
I feel bad for Carr. The Texans remind of the Memphis Grizzlies or Atlanta Hawks or Golden State Warriors. You think the players suck, but its the whole organization/team not the player. Notice how Jason Terry, Boris Diaw 'suddenly' got drastically better once they were out of Atlanta. Same with Mike Bibby. Same with everybody at golden state, Sprewell, Webber, etc Maybe Carr is way better outside the Texans.
Now that he's gone (as predicted by almost everyone), all the vitriol has settled down. Even the re-vitriol and the re-re-vitriol has begun to settle down.
Carr signs with Carolina per ESPN.com Two year deal (no specifics) and he, apparently, won't even compete for the starting job. Delhomme has been named the starter, but looks to be on a pretty short leash.
It gets to me that they simply release him out of goodwill / pity. As if it wasn't enough that they gave him that freakin extension and signing bonus last year. Why couldn't they of held on to him for trade bait . . per that article above, the following teams had interest in him as well: seattle miami cleveland just find this unbelievable
