Passed McGrady in term of clutchness? That is laughable. Sure Mcgrady has had his playoff woes where he hasnt been able to led his team pass the first round, but he has been plenty clutch in the regular season. Correct me if I am wrong, but has Roy even won a playoff game? Or proven himself in the playoffs? So to call him clutch is garbage. Again, you are buying into the media hype.
I think Roy is as good, right now, as McGrady has been since the 04/05 season. You don't need to see Roy in a playoff game to know how good he is. Anyways, soon enough, you'll see how good he is. He'll be the best player in the series.
I beg to differ. I think everyone is forgetting how good Tmac was, especially in 04-05. You could have put anyone, Artest included, to defend Tmac and it wouldnt matter. I have seen games where elite defenders like Ariza and Artest have completely flustered Roy; he shot percentage dropped to ~40%. And not to make excuses for Tmac, but until this year, has he ever had the supporting cast that Roy has now?
Roy is a very good player. So efficient, I would take him on the Rockets over almost any guard in the league....he is so calm, so smart and so efficient. He is not as flashy as some but he is a much better basketball player than most not named Lebron, Kobe or Wade. A LOT BETTER than anyone on the Rockets. Way more efficient that Tmac has ever been....WAY WAY WAY better. DD
man, did some of you guys already forgot how lebron had the WORST game against battier and artest together? dude unless you guys think roy is better than lebron, he's gonna get shut down man. the only person who wouldn't can't be contained is kobe, cuz he's better than lebron offensively.
If Brooks plays smart and aggressive, I see the rockets winning this series hands down. He has the capabilities of probing the Portland defense anytime he wants and throwing them off balance. If I was Adelman I would have been practicing PNRs with Brooks and Lowry the last few days to nauseum. The only way the rockets are going to defend a big lead is to attack the basket off the dribble and not rely on force feeding the ball to Yao.
Makes me sick Golum won that game at the end of the season dropping the rockets lottery pick to #8. If Roy were playing in a bigger market he would be touted as a top 10 player in the league. He has very few holes in his game and its a shame the rockets came so close in getting him.
I think the Rockets getting Roy almost seems like destiny. Roy is a great, humble player... And there's nothing like true sportsmen.
