CNN's "Journalist of the Year" admits to faking stories for years

Let's be honest - conservative news media doesn't exactly celebrate great journalism or any art form really. They tend to see the liberal arts as a whole as fluff

It's a great point -- taking revenue from advertisers necessarily constrains the news or articles that can be published. That's why the MSM peddles certain narratives that are of dubious validity or reality. Other factors may be at play as well, such as the political ideology of the writers/reporters/editors. But in the end, a publication can't publish an article that p*sses its advertisers off.

 

I'm trying to understand what Trump has to do with a journalist caught lying in order to appease his employers and the public, and also, why it is being deflected as a non-event.

It's ok to lie so long as you don't lie to win awards.

 

I don't think they're guilty of it. Or, at least as much as the MSM.

But anyone that accepts advertising dollars necessarily has their message constrained. That includes everyone/all media.

No media that runs cars ads is then going to run an article on how people should not buy cars.

Not trying to knock advertising. But it is what it is.

 

No the journalists of Fox and other right wing news sources aren't guilty of writing to appease editors, because they are told from the outset what they need to write and they follow orders.

 

Journalists be like..."this guy is playing great D on harden today" while harden is sitting on 27 points midway through the third quarter.
