wow, i usually don't give a second thought about murders on the news... even the hundreds that happens in iraq daily, but this hits too close to home. i'm almost teary eyed. i hope they catch the shooter before he commits suicide. death is too good for him.
i was at lunch at the Allen Center at Philly Connection. They have a TV there with cnn on it. I lost my lunch. I don't know anybody personally at VATech, but I sure as hell feel sad.
I hope this murderer won't be able to escape the punishment even if he's dead now. God will do justice for the victims today. This is a sad day indeed.
i was pissed off when they said the shooter killed himself. I was hoping the cops would shoot him. Rather than killing all those people, the b*stard only needed to turn the gun on himself in the first place. what a waste.
I don't have a clue of what the girlfriend is like, but I really feel sorry for her. She'd have to be a really strong person to not blame herself for this. She'll be at the top of my prayer list for a while.
What I don't understand is how one person is killed at 7:15 local time in a dorm and 2 whole hours pass before the next shooting happens on the other side of the campus. Why wasn't security beefed up in that time?

The Campus sent out a precautionary email after the 7:15 shooting in a dorm room, 2 hours later the shooter goes on another rampage in a class room. There's gonna be some hell raised by the victims' loved ones over this I think.
from accounts i've read from people who know people at Va Tech, VT's campus police thought they had everything in control. but someone's gonna have to answer questions as to why they still let class go on upon hearing there was a shooting.
So this moron had problem with his girlfriend. He was upset, and therefore he took his anger out on the innocent young people who's trying to get an education in a supposedly peaceful college campus? The more I think about it, the more pissed I get.
Anyone see the cell phone video on CNN? He's recording it from a distance outside a building, the main point being you can hear the gunshots. An absolutely horrific sound. Nothing else to say except incredibly sad.

I'm listening to reports and things don't seem very clear. Early reports are saying there was a fight in a dorm and the boyfriend killed his girlfriend and an RA. The dorm was locked down but apparently the police were slow to respond. Approximately two hours later shooting started at the engineering building. Some reports say that the engineering building exits had been chained shut in advance of the shooting. The police are confirming that the shooter in the engineering building was killed. No definate information on whether it was self inflicted. Also the police aren't confirming that this was the same shooter as in the dorm earlier.
