i think that's the way i lean, too. these are the words of a madman, frankly. a guy who was mentally unstable and determined to be so by a court. i'm not sure the content of what he's saying is all that critical for the masses to understand. i think we can be told what he said without giving him the microphone to say it. without blasting his picture and video all over the place. he wanted a pulpit in all of this...and we gave it to him.
no, I would not release his name. I wouldn't give him any kind of fame out of this. he's getting exactly what he wanted.
but but but we have to try to understand people like him because we need to find out what it is we're doing wrong. it's never the guy who pulls the trigger's fault, you have to blame the girl in 3rd grade who didn't like him, and also the train for making him late for school, and and and uh the dogs in the neighborhood for pooping on the sidewalk and making his walk uncomfortable. WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND WHY IT'S ALWAYS OUR FAULT. It is NEVER EVER the perp's fault. WHEN WILL YOU GET IT MAX!!!!
It's sickening, cause the end result is that there are going to be others that do the same thing…just for the coverage…because you wanted to see this and the media outlets want their ratings...and the killer wants to be seen and heard. I guess everyone gets what they wanted.
oh hes human it's society who are the wackos. after all, how do you expect peopel to live in a society where they can't get anything they want anytime they want it, and be forced to deal with people who don't think like them
i hear ya. i agree with you on the pulpit thing. but i do think if people treated each other with respect more often that violence would be curbed....not eliminated...but curbed. if people saw the fundamental worth in other human beings simply because they're human beings, a good deal of our troubles would be minimized.
I think he let his fears and anger get the best of him. He might of had some illness that added to it but he wasn't schizophrenic or anything. He was human like we are all human. That is why we have to understand.
he wasnt schizo, but he was suicidal. It seems like anything could have set him off, from not getting to hear the song he wanted to stepping on some chewing gum. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/04/19/vtech.shooting/index.html
Here's the thing. I hate cable news more than most people out there. I can't even stand to watch shows that have the same political leanings as I do. That said, these guys wouldn't be doing things like this if there wasn't an audience. They do this for the ratings. I don't put the blame on NBC for airing these photos and videos. I put the blame on America for being willing to look at them in the first place. I'm guessing that most everyone here b****ing about the media's decision to give this guy what he wanted took a peek themselves.
I heard he was inspired by the Columbine killers. If that's true, then what you say is absolutely correct.
He did pay homage to them...saying he was an outcast like them...which by the way, is ENTIRELY a media creation. I saw a documentary about Columbine the other night called The Final Report. It talked about what a joke it was that those kids got labelled as outsiders. They ran with a huge group of friends, and Eric Harris was said to have a date with a different girl nearly every weekend. They were not loners. But the media made them out to be that way...and this guy found companionship in that imaginary image.
i didn't say that. the media ABSOLUTELY influences people. i think it's comical to suggest otherwise.
