Please educate me: What is a rapid loading mag and how does it differ from a non-rapid loading one. Thanks
I got off at work at six pm, and while I was in my car, i had on 610. i went to other news channels to get the latest news, and 740 was on astros talk, and 790 was on something else. i don't know any other talk stations other than 950, and michael wiener savage was on. He basically went off on immigration and crap like that. I have a feeling this will turn into some immigration thing.
I've already read garbage about how the Asian guy fits the stereotype to do such a thing given that every Asian male holes himself up in a room and plays video games all day. By that I guess the commentator was assuming first person shooters. This country is funny when it comes to a minority being the center of a tragedy. It takes one second afterwards for a group of people to remind them that they're guests here...
Tell me about it. So now April has: April 6: MLK assassinated April 14: Lincoln assassinated April 15: Titanic sinks april 16: WVU shootings. Worst mass shooting in US history April 19: Branch Davidian Compound burned down. April 19: Oklahoma city Bombing April 20: Columbine massacre April 20: Hitler's birthday April 26: Chernobyl April 29: LA riots I only know this stuff because my birthday happens to be on April 19th. Could be worse though. My brother's birthday is on September 11th.
I practically grew up on a university campus. You haven't a clue, with all due respect. I'll repeat myself... they should have evacuated the campus following the first event. Who knows what the result might have been, but it was an obvious thing to do, in my opinion. The tragedy, unprecedented in our history, beggars the imagination. Human couldn't describe whoever was responsible for this. Unbelievable.
You have no idea the logistical nightmare of canceling a large university when people are already in route to class. They probably considered it but came to the conclusion that this was the best course of action given that they thought the situation was over. Hindsight is 20/20. That's why it seems obvious to you in this case. There weren't any indications after the first shooting that it would get this big.
wow my moms too....very sad to see this happen, hopefully it doesnt turn into a full scale racial riot.
probably right. i'm just waiting for bill o'reilly to start it up like he did here: http://www.vidking.com/celeb-vids-3...tically-explodes-as-he-screams-at-Geraldo.htm
What I don't understand is how one guy with two semi-auto handguns manages to kill so many people without somehow being stopped. Even if he had 30-round clips in each, if he didn't reload, that means with 60 bullets he killed 33 people. If he reloaded, there should have been ample time for some big burly jocks to get together and rush him. How many times could he have reloaded? Am I the only one who is wondering about the gruesome math behind this? And this business about him lining up victims is also strange - were they just waiting to be shot? I know, fear, panic and surprise gives the gunman even more of an upper-hand than just the fact that he is the only one with a gun, but still... I am really curious about the details. Am I sick? No, I am writing term papers at 3am. No one is shooting anything at my school.
well he had two guns, so its possible that he had one gun to back him up when hes reloading. a lot of other things dont make sense, like how one gunmen probably with no formal training was able to kill 30+ people with two handguns, not assault rifles, not shot guns, but low caliber pistols. i really thought the students would have pulled a united 93 or something. but since we were not in the situation, its not up to us for judgement. PS; anybody realized how out of shape some of the cops were?
evacuating tech after the first shooting wouldn't do much good.. if anything they should have told the kids to stay at home/in their dorms... its much harder to get into different dorms than it is into classrooms. And they sure as hell shouldve beefed up the security.
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,21570639-2,00.html (*news.com.au is murdoch owned, ie it's essentially fox news) First few paragraphs from article:
The key is that he had two handguns. He can shoot in a way such only one of the two in any time needs to reload. So he always have at least one loaded handgun in his hand. Sad to say but he really thought it through when he planned this thing.
I don't know, someone earlier said that he had speed loaders. Even better would be extra clips. He could have dozens of clips and be able to switch them out in seconds.
