    “Due to the color of their skin” —often people explain away their racial prejudices by saying it’s not about color of skin but rather the “culture” of people that have a particular skin color. What do you think of that distinction?

    Is racial profiling a form of discrimination that you would call racist?

    Somebody didn't learn their lesson. LOL! Project Veritas even after its already been debunked. I'm sure your trolling but in case you would actually like issues based constructive discussion then there are plenty of folks here from the opposite of issues who will discuss things with you. But you have to raise the ante a bit from Project Veritas to join the table. Your stakes are too low to take a seat here.

    Racism is about race not culture. I’ve known blonde hair blue eyed Costa Rican’s that have the exact same culture as their brown skinned countrymen. If a racist does not like black people and looks across a street at a black man he will likely not like him regardless of that mans culture, which of course could be Latino, African, American or something else.

    Profiling is not a form of racism IMO. “Why” you are profiling might be. If you are looking for a 6 foot, blonde haired 30 something white male because a bunch of witnesses to a murder described someone of that description as the attacker then that is profiling but certainly not racist.

    However, If someone is murdered and their are no witnesses and you are just looking for black people because you don’t like black people then that is racist.

    Trumps ad is not racist. It may be offensive to some but not racist. Racist is the easy default claim these days. Sad.

    The difference is that I can tell you why it is bigoted. When I asked why Lemon's comments were called racist nobody could answer. Trump's ad is bigoted because it paints possibly all immigrants and certainly all illegal immigrants from south of the border as dangerous murdering criminals. That is the intent of the video. We know that isn't the case. Legal immigrants are the least likely to commit violent crimes. Illegal immigrants are the next least likely to commit violent crimes, and American born citizens are the most likely.

    So Trump's video misrepresents someone of a different ethnicity in a way to try and paint every immigrant and certainly every illegal immigrant in a negative way.

    This is very different than what Lemon's comments did or even attempted to do. If you aren't clear about anything I mentioned as to why the ad was bigoted, then let me know which parts aren't and I will be happy to discuss them with you.

    On profiling, I am referring to the practice of pulling over “suspicious looking people” in case they are up to something no good, and focusing more on people of a particular race that you think are statistically more likely to be up to no good.

    That is cut and dried racism, according to your definition. Do you disagree?
