this is worse than finding fortune cookies to ask a girl out for homecoming... http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/10/11/ok.staged.robbery.reut/index.html Note: It is an Oklahoma man.
Yes, but there were 2 separate episodes with wildly different stories: 1) Fred gets robbed while bowling and thinks that Wilma feels he is a coward, so he tries to do all these things to make her think that he is brave including being a lion tamer at a circus. But in the end, he runs into the robber (recognizes his voice), confronts him and captures him. 2) Fred finds some money while Wilma is gone and goes to buy a brand new bowling ball with Barney. Only he does not realize that it is money for his birthday present. So, he claims that he was robbed and talks a guy into playing the robber. The only problem is that Wilma feels so sorry for the man that she winds up giving him all of Fred's birthday money leaving our protagonist without a birthday present. EDIT - I remember a third episode! Fred and Barney win some money by betting on the races but they get robbed when they go back to get the money. Wilma does not believe Fred or Barney when they tell her they were robbed.
good god you guys act like it was this great excursion to do this cookie thing. Store->6 dollars->drop cookies in her room->go to dance.
Good stuff, and close in various aspects, but, amazingly, none of those were the one I was thinking of http://www3.nb.sympatico.ca/kmccorry/flint-2.html
