this thing seems pretty cut and dry, he leaves from his mom's house in the police car healthy, he's in bad shape and needs to got to the hospital by the time they get to jail. if that much is established.

That's what I was thinking. We've really just got the Driver family side, which probably has some good representation, and haven't heard much from the cops (and probably won't, with the investigation). But, what mitigating factor could the Driver account be leaving out to justify that he went into the cop car in cuffs and came out with bleeding in his brain? It'd have to be some thriller material.

How could he pose a threat from the back seat of a police car? Not like this old man is Brock Lesnar or anything. Maybe the guy was mouthing off are something, but the cops never imagined he was the dad of a NFL Pro Bowler.

    Whoa, that is insane.

What do they get out of it by beating people up? I don't get it.

    :(

I'd like to hear the other side of the story. But I have a hard time believing something this severe was warranted.

It's considered puny to me, average salary 44k isn't much to me.

This gives me the opportunity to piss in their bowl of cornflakes, which my tax dollars paid for.

Large city cops are nothing more then organized mafias. They walk around with Napoleon complexes and I give them the middle finger behind their back all the time.

HPD, beat my cousin to death while taking him in custody. They said he hung himself on a strip of sheet from his bed, less than 6 hours after being in jail. The autopsy came back with a broken nose, a contussion on back of his head, a broken orbital socket, broken ribs, and a severely shattered elbow. This all happened around 2001. I will never think of a HPD officer the same ever since.

HPD has some murderers on board no doubt.

Most cops seem like bullies to me. They just had to search for a new avenue as they aged.

First... inexcusable. Regardless what happened, no one deserves to be beaten like this. And made him swallow something? That's more than a bit .... weird.

Second... any time QX gets involved, I become immediately skeptical of the spin. Dude just seems like an attention monger, and not necessarily particularly interested in honesty above cause(s). That's just my take. I do not know the man personally.

It would be nice to know what really happened, but regardless, these "policemen" should be more than punished for such behavior. Maybe there's more to it... maybe not. Story is a bit immaculately damning though. I'm sure there are more details as to an explanation, but nothing that would excuse it.

Guy beats up by police officer. Guy's family says he was innocent and the police were animals. People bash cops.

    Sounds pretty typical.

I wonder how many articles are written where a guy says "Hey, the cops pulled me over and I was stoned/drunk/generally an ******* and started a fight. The cops ended up knocking me out. I was totally in the wrong and I commend the police department."

Edit: That said, the article seems to indicate the beating was out of line. I'd just like to hear more than just the family and Mr. X's version of events before I start calling out the police department, especially since one important issue in the family's story has already been false.

Funny, you ask, my aunt, who was a piss poor mother, that never even raised her kids (my mom did, and my mom still has custody of her down syndrome son) all of a sudden showed up, being all upset although she was never a part of his life. We payed for the entire funneral, headstone and all. I got word that my aunt was going to sue. We have nothing to do with her, so I really dont know what happened with that. She was just looking to make a $ off of her son being murdered. Its really sad to be honest. She is a.....ok, I'll stop there before I get all fired up.
