If they went to CNN it would have been their new NeoCon lacky Bill Bennet, not a real reporter.

Are you talking about the degenerate gambler who tries to tell the world what is moral and what isn't while he pisses away tens of thousands of dollars, or are you talking about another Bill Bennett?

I loved the part on the dailyshow where they exclaimed that the glee shown by neo-demo reporters as if this was watergate was due to finally having something to sink teeth into... :D telling and true!

Dick's never been big on accountablitly...so it doesn't surprise me he didn't immediately call the media. And he is very media savy.

Besides...he's played it about as well as you can. There was much more to gain by letting the media stew for a bit...and speculate as to what might be...thereby separating 'that liberal media' who jump on what he says was one beer four hours before...(and conveniently, comments on his sobriety are pure speculation at this point), from those who might give him some benefit of a doubt

He, somehow, may gain support from this. Not from those who opposed him before...but from others who might, incredulously, see him as more 'human' and as a victim of the media.

    Crazy.

    Rope-a-dope.

    Never underestimate a snake.

God forbid we should allow an interview with somebody that MIGHT have a different perspective. Afterall, granting an interview to CNN would empower the terrorists, right?

Cheney looks like a cop out granting the interview to Fox. Is he afraid to answer tough questions?

I bet Cheney only answered the questions he gave Faux News beforehand.

    Oh...my...god.

Cheney comes out and says it's his fault and that the responsibility lies with him...and some of you STILL aren't satisfied.

That's because a lot of it doesn't add up, especially the timeline and "witness" statements. Shoe on the other foot time for Cheney defenders: If this was Gore or God forbid, Clinton, your reaction would be the same right? No little voice that says "This doesn't make sense?" No criticism of Gore waiting almost a day to inform anyone and only then doing it behind the skirts of a private citizen? No concerns about Gore's Secret Service detail telling the Deputy an appointment had been made and you should come back tomorrow? What about the main witness saying the victim was peppered and then finding out the victim has shot in his heart and liver? You would all take side with Gore when he estimated the distance right? No need to do an analysis of the shot pattern or the wounds because Gore's telling the truth right? Gore was so concerned about his good friends health that he really wanted to make sure all the details were known before releasing the info to a local paper right? No issues when James Carville gets involved and is known to have talked to the "witness" before the story is made public? No problem with Gore drinking Martinis the night his good friend is in the hospital? No qualms about him clamming up for four days? Everyone agrees Gore's being treated just like any other American would in similar circumstances right? Nothing to see, nothing to hide? What about this tidbit on the witness:

There's a lot of ambiguity in that statement... did she think Whittington had heart problems or Cheney? If it's the latter, that calls into question whether she actually saw the shot.

Would everyone be happy with Gore if
That's why we're still not satisfied.

Then there are the rumors and speculation these actions create. One beer at lunch? Rumors of infidelity? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-cesca/was-cheney-hiding-his-lew_b_15705.html

i hate dick cheney. and i would love to take down this administration.

but i think family lives are out of play. if he's cheating on her...great i hope lynn kicks his ass but thats not our problem. and frankly i hate it when there are sex scandals.

this man single handedly played the terror card in connection with iraq. we should send him to the hague for that. not for playing around with an ambassador.

He did it. . .and everyone knows he did it
what was he suppose to say?

It is like catching someone in the act
they don't get credit for admitting it
