Were you recently woken up after a long, cryogenic slumber? What the hell do you think politics are? It's choosing a side and whining about every thing the other side does. This is also true for religion and sports.
What on earth would make you think I know Mike Huckabee??? I am talking about the people I know and hang out with. The people I work with. I have actually only met two people in my life who are leftist and even they were not as far left as the guys on the forum.
You could say it but it woukd be bull**** like most of your posts. Like the time you said there was no need for anti-discrimination laws because all men are created equal. Derp.
SMH!!! You are so full of hate it eats you up inside. Let go of the hate. Please take a deep breath. I am sorry you were raised to be so angry with the world. Your parent(s) must have really been something!!!!
Well yes, either way. In our political process, the presidential vote is always going to be roughly half-and-half. The reason being that the 2 main parties craft and modulate their platforms to get just enough votes while not giving up more than necessary of what the core stakeholders want the most. There's an implicit negotiation of ideologies going on all the time to track political platforms to the beliefs of the populace -- and management of the beliefs of the populace to correspond with the platforms. This is going to be true of winner-take-all electoral systems like ours, though you'll see it most pure in the presidential race because local races will be distorted somewhat by the delta between national positions and local tastes. In that way, I don't see the tyranny of the majority to be much of a tyranny. Sure, it's only 51%, but that 51% only results from an ongoing negotiation with the minority.
Being a "christian" and all I'm surprised you aren't acquainted with Mr Huckabee and his positions. But maybe, just maybe that's the point. It seems your sphere of acquaintances is very small (narrow minded even?). You would do well to do some traveling, meet some people with differing perspectives, step out of your comfort zone. I've lived all around the world and that's what has shaped my world view.
It's these type of "Christian" responses that reaffirm my belief that there is no magic man in the sky controlling everything. Let me guess. You'll "pray for him"?
How is stating the truth against anything Christian? If I was not a Christian it would not make what I said any less true. I feel sorry for CW and yes I have and will pray for him or her!!!!
Hate is eating you up!!! Please let it go. It makes you look really pitiful and weak. You and Ottomation ought to actually read the Constitution.
What truth do you speak? You made several assumptions about a complete stranger's emotional state before then insulting his/her upbringing. Have you traveled much? It is my assumption that you have not spent much time outside of the suburbs of Texas. See, I could have replaced "outside of the suburbs of Texas" with "topside of a rock", but I am not a Christian, so it's a lot harder for me to be that cruel.
I am not sure why am even bothering to reply to this but, awe how nice, you are coming to CW's defense. You must not have read all the hate he or she has spewed in thread after thread. I can assure that CW is a more than capable of defending his or herself.
I don't mean this to be offensive, but if you have only met two people that are leftist, then you live a very sheltered life or you only know most people superficially. I say this because there are more "leftists" that expose the beliefs of the posters you earlier listed, than there are "rightests" that are very religious. That isn't to say that there are not others that share your view point, there certainly are, and I know many people that do...... but it isn't the majority.
His response isn't Christian or not Christian. He doesn't really reflect the beliefs of Christ anymore than I do.
So what truth did you speak of? Nobody needs to defend themselves from you, as your Gomer Pyle shtick of "Gee, I can't believe everybody doesn't think like me!" isn't really doing much aside from providing some entertainment to bring a Friday workday to a close. I recommend travelling.
Some people are empathetic and some people aren't. That's the deep basis of US political tension. It's whether you see yourself as a member of a group effort (a nation) or you see yourself as separate and apart from the people of the nation. Liberals are mad, because the national political narrative, and the meaning of Christianity have been appropriated by moneyed self-interested parties who use it to benefit themselves i.e. avoiding regulation that serve the population, avoiding paying taxes that preserve their privileged lifestyle exploiting the servicemen and civil servants that make it possible and surly you don't see anything "Christ-like" in churches that preach discrimination and hate. You're being played homie. Your armed services, your civil justice system, your national transportation system, the support of the indigent, the clean air and water you depend on, the entire American system is the result of collective effort, cooperation and goodwill. That's good government, active government and collective will.
It's just really Christian of you to assume how his parents you never met raised him. It's the Christian in you that was able to determine his character enough through a NBA team fan message board to determine the character of his parents. It's Christian intuition I guess. Ah, the anonymity of the internet, allowing dickheads like you to grow a pair and "tell it like it is" since 2000 and something.
