You have incredibly well developed reading and writing skills for a 3 year-old.

well either he's had a change of heart or is saying what his Republican masters want him to say to siphon gay voters from the Dems.

in May 2000 he said this on Meet the Press

MR. RUSSERT: Does the state have a right to say that only heterosexuals can be married?

MR. NADER: I think homosexuals have the right of civil union. There are economic reasons for that and there are humanitarian reasons for that, and I think the Vermont decision is a good one, and I think homosexuals should be given equal rights and equal responsibilities.

Oh no! A flip-flop! This will greatly cut into the 0.4% of the vote Ralph might have expected in November!

Outlaw, your evidence is far less persuasive than mine. He never directly addresses gay marriage in yours. He does in mine. Yours is outdated as well.

Nader is pro-gay marriage. John Forbes Kerry is not. Period.

T_J's rabid interest in this thread demonstrates one thing clearly:

some Bush supporters would rather talk Nader than deal with the acid reflux that accompanies trying to spin Bush's record of the last three years.

    BURP. :p

Bush supporters/RNC will do more than talk... in my opinion, they will be Nadir's biggest contributers.

outdated? I would prefer to think of it as important historical record.

in 1996 the first time he ran for president he said he was “not interested in gonadal politics.”

in 2000 he said he supports civil unions (a la Vermont)

in 2004 he said he supports gay marriage

that's a big transformation in 8 years or maybe he's just saying whatever it takes to get the vote?

outlaw -- spin it however you would prefer, but the fact of the matter is that *yesterday*, Ralph Nader said he supports gay marriage. My question is why do Edwards and Kerry not support it? Do they feel that gays are second class citizens? Apparently. All those who vote for John Forbes Kerry should be aware of this.

So, finally an admission by a Republican that they view homosexuals as second class citizens. Hell, probably more like third-class since most of them support a Constitutional Amendment to further repress their homosexual feelings, er, to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

If Kerry and Edwards feel that gays are "second class citizens", then that means the pResident must feel that they are "enemy combatants"!:D

There are few men I have more respect for than Ralph Nader. He's arguably the country's most influential private citizen since Martin Luther King, Jr.

But running for president will be a huge mistake -- for him personally, for his politics, for Democrats and for third parties everywhere.

The Bush fundraising machine will be POURING money into the Nader campaign in Florida. POURING MONEY. Nader gives the Republicans the chance to spend much more than they otherwise could have in Florida -- money on Bush and money on Nader. Florida voters will be inundated with Nader's ads, and they will attract the left-wingers down there to vote for Nader.

Donate today to the Nader campaign!! I know I am!!

I wish we could see the numbers but I bet they were his biggest supporters in 2000.

for someone who, before yesterday, was so confident in a Bush blowout, wouldn't this just be a waste of money?

    This is interesting.

Nader acknowledged the pledge but said it does not mean he will refrain from criticizing Democrats if they attack him. "I'm not going to avoid responding," he said. "

He will attack everyone because, by golly, he's convinced he's better than them all! He can't help himself.

BTW, Dean has come out and said that Nadir is making a huge mistake and terribly hurting the very issues that he's made his life's work. Sorry, don't have a link... just heard it on CNN.

Great. Bush became a wild stallion with Laura when he heard this news.

    Nader and his g.d. ego.

Still, all hope is not lost. Gore was Mr No-Personality, and enough people hate Bush, that the race will still be a close one.

If Republicans are really rejoicing in in Ralph running, then they must not feel too good about their own candidate's standing. This wont be 2000 folks, we now know what kind of damage George Bush can do to this country. People didnt take him seroiusly in 2000, nobody will make that mistake again.
