I believe a co-worker of mine here went to that school. He is a pretty bright guy and a top trader actually here. Unless you are going to Ivy League it doesn't really matter where you go to college. This is especially true for jobs here on Wall Street.

You're coworker sounds like bright guy. The chick in the article sounds like a dumb, lazy female who feels like she's entitled to a job based on her stellar GPA.

This ain't the hood Trina. Open your eyes and get with the program.

Birghtside - Trading is pretty unique in that it attracts a wide variety of talent, as long as you're sharp you can acquire the skillset. Traders have the most versatile backgrounds and alot of them are extremely eccentric, many of them haven't gone to top colleges but create opportunities for themselves. This trick is the definition of a delusional girl living in a fantasy world, I wouldn't be surprised if we see her on flavor of love next week.

Even if she had a 4.0, this would still be ridiculous. And this stunt is not going to help her find employment...well I hope not.

Seriously, who will hire her now that she's pegged herself as a whiny 2.7GPA who's ALWAYS there (attendance)? lol

HR: I see you were a lousy student.
    Trina: Uh huh.
HR: Right. It also says here you enjoy filing frivolous lawsuits.
    Trina: Uh huh.
HR: I see no reason not to hire you on the spot. Welcome aboard.
    Trina: A'ight.

Good luck to her and her search for employment.

Wow! A lot of you in that 3.0-4.0 range on this board. I had no idea

^ that's hilarious, man. How did you know? :p

Anyway, nowadays no one hires you for a GOOD JOB in IT unless you have experience or a lot more education or certifications than just a college degree. You need to start at entry-level positions in order to get better. Work your happy ass way up from the bottom before you ask for a good position, lady.

I'm ashamed to say I am in IT just like she is.

****, I had amost a full point higher than her with a better degree from a top ranked school and I still busted my ace for 9+ months to get a job.

She should probably sue all her teachers as well for making her study when it didnt help...

If she actually wins this case, I'll have 0 faith in our legal system.

If you're not going to bring race into it why even announce that you're not going to do it?
