    Mansfield players available:

4 Alan Neilson - 36 year old Wales International defender - valued at 55k (5 games for me last season)
    6 David Artell - 28 year old defender - valued at 1.8M (36 apps)
    9 Paul Wheatcroft - 28 year old striker - valued at 1.4M (19 apps)
    10 Kevin Kyle* - 28 year old striker - valued at 5.5M (45 apps)
11 Aminu Sani - 29 year old Nigerian International left winger - valued at 2.6M (36 apps)
    15 Richard Hinds - 28 year old defender - valued at 500k (3 apps)
    16 Andrew Martin - 29 year old forward - valued at 2.1M (21 apps)
17 Sean Morris - 24 year old right winger - valued at 1.9M (13 apps)
    21 Peter Weatherston - 29 year old striker - valued at 2.7M (20 apps)
    24 Graeme Porter - 27 year old striker - valued at 2.2M (11 apps)
    25 Ben May - 25 year old striker - valued at 2.2M (4 apps)
    27 Sean McClare* - 31 year old midfielder - valued at 375k (0 apps)
29 Ricardo Beckford - 26 year old left winger - valued at 1.9M (6 apps)
    30 Antti Niemi - 37 year old goalkeeper - valued at 180k (0 apps)
    - Philip Bardsley* - 23 year old right full back - valued at 130k (0 apps)

    * = players officially listed, I will most likely not list the others as I have no problem keeping them, but I will most likely accept an offer for value for all these players. Also the position I have mentioned is where they did play for me, some is listed with more than one position, but I have only mentioned the one they most often played for me.

    Mansfield depth chart:

    Goalkeepers

    1 Phil Edwards, 22 -- 25 apps
    13 Steve Phillips, 31 -- 26 apps
    30 Antti Niemi, 37 -- 0 apps

Very good coverage and good talent between the pipes. Antti Niemi is still the Finnish International GK, but with Edwards and Phillips ahead of him will most likely not see action this season either. The 1st team spot is an open fight between Edwards and Phillips, and most likely they will both see significant time again.

    Defense

    Full backs:
    2 Per Karlsson, 22 -- 42 apps (right)
    3 Dan Fredriksson, 23 -- 41 apps (left/right)
    12 Kirk Hilton, 29 -- 6 apps (left)
    4 Alan Neilson, 36 -- 5 apps (right)
    15 Richard Hinds, 28 -- 3 apps (right)
    34 Ian Kerr, 19 -- 13 apps (right)

At the moment I can't see anyone but the top 3 seeing time at fullback, not starting atleast. This is mostly because I would rather opt for a 3-5-2 should Karlsson not be available.

    Centre backs:
    2 Per Karlsson, 22 -- 42 apps
    3 Dan Fredriksson, 23 -- 41 apps
    4 Alan Neilson, 36 -- 5 apps
    5 Gareth Roberts, 27 -- 31 apps
    6 David Artell, 28 -- 36 apps
    12 Kirk Hilton, 29 -- 6 apps
    15 Richard Hinds, 28 -- 3 apps
    22 Martijn Kuiper, 30 -- 32 apps
    34 Ian Kerr, 19 -- 13 apps

I have no problems using my full backs as centre backs as they are all 'quality'. In my 4 man defense they will play wide though leaving 2 centre back spots open for mainly 2 of Roberts, Artell or Kuiper. I might also move Fredriksson in for a centre back spot if Hilton is on form. Same goes for a 3 man back line. Karlsson will probably land a spot regardless leaving the other spots up for grabs. I also have Ian Kerr coming up, and he could easily see more time this season as I have a lot of faith in him.

    Midfielders

    Wingers:
    7 Leon Britton, 26 -- 34 apps
    8 Philip Mulryne, 31 -- 40 apps
    11 Aminu Sani, 29 -- 36 apps
    14 Stephen Cooke, 26 -- 22 apps
    17 Sean Morris, 24 -- 13 apps
    23 Gary Hope, 22 -- 8 apps
    29 Richardo Beckford, 26 -- 6 apps
    31 Jordan Hall, 25 -- 9 apps
    32 Dan Rownham, 23 -- 23 apps

Oooh. I almost feel bad for having all this talent. And to tell the truth, I have no idea who is my 1st choice for whis upcoming season. Mulryne can get a few games as right wing to allow for other central midfielders in the game, Cooke is also primarily a central midfielder in my eyes and Hope will see part of his time in attack. The rest of them will fight, and fight real hard for the right to play. Sani is probably my first choice at the moment for left winger, but Beckford will also be given his chance at the spot. With the increased competition Britton will probably see less time this season, but he can also get some games at the left wing. Hope will probably see a lot of time, and depending who else I use he can play any place in midfield or attack. Oh, and I have yet to mention Jordan Hall. For the right wing spot Hope is probably in the lead at the moment, but Rownham is still improving and will get his opportunities again, Morris will also get increased chances this year and Britton will also battle for time here. With all these competing for a first team spot on my wings no wonder I will have to let 1 or 2 of them go if offers arrive.

    To be continued ...

    Defensive Midfielders:
    5 Gareth Roberts, 27 -- 31 apps
    15 Richard Hinds, 28 -- 3 apps
    18 Dan Wiklund, 23 -- 37 apps
    19 Durgham El-Bawi, 28 -- 16 apps
    - John Ward, 23 -- 0 apps

This is Wiklund's spot to lose, but since he dont believe it he might as well do. Roberts will only see time here as a sub if needed or extreme injury situations. El-Bawi might be getting a bigger role this season do to an unused trait of his. I will test it out some in the preseason/season and if he respond well he might benefit. John Ward is the joker in this. If he is the quality he can be then that could shake it up some. Hinds at this point is only considered a backup here.

    Midfielders:
    7 Leon Britton, 26 -- 34 apps
    8 Philip Mulryne, 31 -- 40 apps
    14 Stephen Cooke, 26 -- 22 apps
    20 Danny McDonald, 23 -- 34 apps
    23 Gary Hope, 22 -- 8 apps

This is Mulryne's reign, as the other central midfielder, the creative one. Cooke is his backup. McDonald did see some time here with Mulryne injured last season and Hope is also an exciting one in this role. Britton can get some time here as a sub I guess.

When I go 3-5-2 I get an extra midfield spot, at AM C. Here is where Danny does his damage. Hope unless tied up in other duties should be good here. I have not tried Mulryne in this spot yet, but have a set in mind that could be good. Britton is a good option here as well, as is pulling down one of the attackers.

    Attackers
    9 Paul Wheatcroft, 28 -- 19 apps
    10 Kevin Kyle, 28 -- 45 apps
    16 Andrew Martin, 29 -- 21 apps
    20 Danny McDonald, 23 -- 34 apps
    21 Peter Weatherston, 29 -- 20 apps
    23 Gary Hope, 22 -- 8 apps
    24 Graeme Porter, 27 -- 11 apps
    25 Ben May, 25 -- 4 apps
    28 Alex Revell, 25 -- 20 apps

Kevin Kyle have been the #1 in my team come offense for a while now. But he wants out, and if he can agree to a new team meeting my demands, then he will be gone. But for now he keeps his starting spot. The other starter as of now is Alex Revell if he is up to it he can earn the new #1 spot, and if he is then all the others will have a hard time earning a spot. Of course they will get chances, and no one is untouchable to be left off the team now (Kyle this is a message for you). Wheatcroft, Martin, Weatherston and Porter will be given their chance, while May in the current state is more the backup. Danny McDonald finally tasted some time in the attack last season, and might be given a chance again. Hope is pretty much all around the midfield, but could very well see time here again this season. His first chances for Mansfield were as an attacker, and he was bought as one, so if others shore up the midfield spots, he will get to play here.

    2. Ruca-Starter last year, started hot, finished poorly, very capable player though

    3. O' Connor-listed above

    4. Jody Wallace-another young player with a good deal of potential, he needs to improve his decision making, but has a very bright future as well

    4. Wallace-mentioned above

    SC

    Nottingham Forest Reds:
The Reds will expect to win the Premier League, the FA Cup, and to challenge for the Champions Cup.

    GK:
Johan Wiland - Solid veteran keeper.

Analysis: Very thin. Plan on adding a star keeper to replace Wiland, and adding depth at the same time.

    Defense:
Steven Moore - Anchor of the defense. Fantastic young player.

Geir Anders Kirkholm - Star veteran. Might be too slow to keep up with Premier soccer.

Mats Wejsfelt - Neglected in the WWW2, he could make a comback if a tactics switch is in order. A valuable sub nonetheless.

Daniel Watts - Young future star will be a valuable sub.

    Midfield:
Nathan Davies - Leader of this group. The most talented player on Forest. An extreme playmaker, his creativity and flair lends to exciting play by the Reds.

David Williamson - Superstar youngster. Produces like a veteran. Could see time at AMC this season, depending on tactics.

Andreas Johansson - Aging veteran, could be useful as a sub depending on tactics.

John Welsh - Outstanding young defensive midfielder. Might be out of a spot if tactics change.

James O'Connor - The team's best tackler, he commands the midfield defensively. He wants out, so he might be sent packing.

Janne Salli - Old veteran. Must be replaced immediately.

    Attack:
Marcus Benson - Without a doubt the most exciting player in English football. Benson is the ultimate star player for Forest. He has been voted the fan favorite three years running. He has broken the 30 goal mark three years running, and scored 42 in superb form last season. At only 24 years of age, Benson has been the most prolific goal scorer in English football for the past three years. He is the future of English football, and will lead the Reds to glory.

Francis Jeffers - Possibly more talented than Benson, he has yet to produce greatly on the pitch. He will be given a chance this season to convert to an AMC, or perhaps spell Benson depending on tactics. He might also start at striker.

Available: Anybody else. :) Including star Shaun Berry, valued at well over 4M.

Uhh Carlisle stunk again last year and the same can probably be expected this year. I now know one reason why my finances are screwed. When Paolo Montero retired at the end of last season it changed his salary. Instead of making the 25,000/w he was making it upped him to 80,000/w. Please offer him a contract of a far lesser value :( .

My team will probably start getting some offers for a couple of players. Hore is one of them. PLease negotiate to 850K + 15% on next sale and 200k after 10 apps. If they don't like it then tough. If he is sold please remove Robertson, O'connor and Quashie from being listed. all should get status as squad rotation. If Hore does not get bought and I get offers on Robertson. Please negotiate to 800k +15% + 150k after 10 apps.

Also fromt he email I sent. Move Sam into the Jardel position.

And with the season here, these great guys start out in Mansfield Reserves, trying to battle their way into the first team.

GK Antti Niemi (sub in the first team due to Edwards being out 3 weeks) 4 games - 7.33 rating
D R Philip Bardsley - produced well given the chance in the offseason. Listed, but maybe a chance for him yet? 4 - 7.00
D RC Ian Kerr - not as solid as wanted in the offseason, but is a real talented one. 6 - 6.33
D/DM RC Richard Hinds - also doing ok in the offseason. 5 - 7.00
D/M R Dan Rownham - not really an offseason kind of guy. I expect him to hit back soon and get a few first team appaerances. 5 - 6.60
    D/M/S C Ben May - really deserves more than I (can) give him. 3 - 7.33
DM C John Ward - have yet to show his immense talent. 3 - 6.00
    M RC Sean McClare - have seen better days. 1 - 6.00
AM R Sean Morris - I expect him to get a lot of first team games 4 - 6.50
AM/F L Jordan Hall - another player on the brink of the first team. 4 - 6.50
    F RC Andrew Martin - here to prove himself. 3 - 7.33
F LC Ricardo Beckford - slipping further away from rotation? 2- 6.50
S C Graeme Porter - really need to show something here to get the chance again. 3 - 6.33
S C Paul Wheatcroft - if he keeps up the effort shown in the first reserve game (9, 2 goals) he will be back in the first team in no time. 4 - 7.00

Stats include the first reserve game - now off to work.

These posts are fun, so I'm gonna do one too.

Available players older than prospect status on Cheltenham include (listed players have a *):

*D RC Alistair Asher - he started a lot for Mansfield awhile back; never plays for me. Costs less than his value.
AM RL Freddie De'Ath - he's well suited as a winger, because he does two things well - dribbling and crossing. Season 7 was when he got the bulk of his playing time with me; averaged 6.92 with 2 goals and 4 assists in 14 starts and 10 substitutions at age 23/24.
*F LC Martin Devaney - been with Cheltenham since the beginning. He was a starter the first few years and looking back at old textfiles he had some good years - 13 assists and a 7.28 average in season 1, 9 goals in season 2, 13 goals and 8 assists in season 3, and 11 goals, 8 assists, and a 7.06 rating in his first D2 season. He'd be real cheap to get too.
F RC Arnaud Gonzales - if you don't mind age, he'd be a pretty good acquisition. He's played well at striker and right wing for me. In season 7, he had 10 goals, 7 assists, and a 7.58 rating for me. Could be purchased for less than value, I think.
S C Steve Harvey - just a Cheltenham youth product who's 24 and hasn't played much. There's no reason for me to have him, so I figure I should give somebody else the chance to...
GK Bertrand Laquait - good French keeper who's stuck behind a couple other good ones for me. He's not young, but he averaged 7.14 in 21 games for me in season 7 and could provide any team with either solid depth at the GK position or at least a good stopgap.
*GK Andy Ralph - has decent keeping attributes, as I recall, but won't ever play for me. Feel free to take him for a pittance.
S C Ryan Thompson - this is a player I feel I may have shortchanged with my recent desire to find a good striker. Thompson's only really seen playing time in season 7, and he averaged 7.38 with 7 goals and 2 assists in 19 starts and 13 sub appearances. That's pretty good, and yet he hasn't gotten much of a chance after it. He's definitely the pacey finishing type of striker, so if you're looking for one of those, don't forget about poor Ryan.
*DM RC Elvis Danilo Turcios - he can probably be thought of as Sander Van Gessel with a good attitude. His attributes are really nice - have a look! - but he's disappointed for me when he's gotten to play. He could be acquired extremely cheaply and perhaps he'd flourish in a system different than mine - his attributes say he should.

Also available are just about all of my youth players, some of whom look as though they could be quite good - Carl Clarke, Craig Gould, Gavin Logan (who I quite like), Chris Reid, Steve Walker, Shaun Worthington (who's got a couple really nice qualities as I recall - have a look at him if you are into developing the young players). Most of those players could be had for around value. Jamie King and Ian Robinson would be the toughest of the 23-and-unders to pry away from me, I think.

The other players I might sell if I got a tasty enough offer are Christos Moraitis and Ian Stonebridge. Their records speak for themselves.

Let me know if you're interested in any of these fellas...

Heath please search for interested scouts. Offer to the one with the best Judge Potential (was James Stewart in my save). As soon as he signs assign him to Youth Search.

In addition to Ian Stonebridge and Christos Moraitis, I could consider selling successful defensive midfielder Rhys Weston, a stalwart in midfield for me the past two years. He's got a great passing attribute, gets some assists and some goals, and has provided a good defensive presence for me at M C - his ratings are low in season 6 and before because I used him at D C then, where he is apparently not well suited.

I think I want to sit the rest of this round out and come back next season as Holden Magroin.

A sad day indeed. To being one game from bringing them from D3 to the premiership, they turn on you like this when things go down the tube?

Although I do think had they not fired you, you could possibly have relegated anyway. No economy and the supporters protesting, half the team hating you, and the other half sucking/wanting out. And add them together and you still only had half a team (down to 22 players). On the other hand, had you not gotten all those injuries in addition, maybe they could have continued the somewhat good trend they had the first few games.

It will be interesting to see if a new manager can turn that team around. He will probably have the benefit of not being hated, but I still think Carlisle best shot would have been to have kept you in there to right the ship. If they hire a crappy computer manager it is no telling how far they can drop before the economy is fixed. They already sold atleast one player (Robertson), but it is more money in promoting/not relegating than selling away the cheap and low valued players anyway.

I still have you activated in the game, as you should have reputation enough to get yourself a new job should you want it. I have set the computer to apply for jobs for you, while having you on holiday. Lets see what job that can bring, if any.

Of course - if you want to take a D1 team as Holden then that is completly understandable. Just to go back to the last few games, you really went out in flames, Carlisle style. The game you lost 4-1 (Carlisle with the late goal) you won 9-7 in chances. So they were really playing down to their style all the way to the end.

PS: The managerless team won their first game. 1-0 away.

yeah I am thinking of taking a d-2 playoff team that does not promote. I want a challenge of trying to work my way from D-2 to premier. I guess it will all depend on if I get another job.

Previously brought to you in the CM channel was updates as textfiles, reserve stats and always good complete selection info screens without any fuzz.

This time however I'm proud to announce the continuation: Squad screen, Reserve Screen and so you might bother to even check also the contract screen have been updated.

More to follow - stay tuned to the CM channel!

(of course more reliable sources appear in the chat as this channel never have been trustworthy to report updates)
