I had teams incorectly listed for th erelegation promotion part.
Heath I need to find a new player. I need a replacement for Savage. He is killing me. At your convenience please do a search for his position and the following attributes: Pace:11 Passing:12(this is the most important attribute) Finishing:10 If you need to pair it down more add one to each attribute. If that doesn't help add 10 for flair. Also has Jack been doing anything for Middlesborough? What is his value and would he be available
PREDICTION CHALLENGE 2005/6 1. Champions (Winners for all 5 divisions, 3 pts each) Premier: Manchester United First Division: Coventry Second Division: Cheltenham Third Division: Bristol Rovers Conference: Stafford R 2. Promotions & Relegations Premiership (relegation only - 3 teams - 3, 2, 1 pts): DOWN: Preston, Manchester City, Birmingham First Division (3 up - 3 down - 3, 2, 1 pts): UP: Coventry, Charlton, Carlisle (known as the 3 Cs) DOWN: Wimbledon, Wigan, Crewe (this has to be the most open race ever, half of the teams seem to be in risk of relegation) Second Division (3 up - 4 down - 3, 2, 1, 1 pts): UP: Cheltenham, Mansfield, Watford DOWN: Dag & Red, Tranmere, Rushden, Reading Third Division (4 up - 1 down* - 3, 2, 1, 1 pts): UP: Bristol Rovers, Luton, Brighton, Swindon DOWN*: Darlington (Full gamble - putting down 3 pts on this) Conference: (1 up* - 3 down - 3, 2, 1 pts): UP*: Stafford R (Medium gamble - putting down 2 pts on this) DOWN: Emley, Halesowen, Dover You decide how many teams you want to put up there and you rank them, not by how they will end but how much faith you put into them winning promotion/being relegated. This part come with a bit of gambling as if you get it wrong you will get the points you would gain for getting it right deducted if you dont get it. For calling all teams the full pointscale will be used, for calling less only the lower points will be used. *) With the one team going down to/up from the conference you decide how many points you want to gamble on each from 1 to 3. Example: Lets say you have Preston, Sunderland and Fulham relegating from the premier league ranked in that order. Then you will get +/- 3 points depending on Prestons relegation status, +/- 2 for Sunderland and +/- 1 for Fulham. So if only Preston relegate of the 3 you end up with 3-2-1=0 pts. If all relegate you get 6 pts, if none relegate you get -6 pts. If you on the other hand only listed Preston and Sunderland, then Preston relegating would gain you 2 pts and Sunderland 1 pt. So getting only Preston in this instance will get you 1 pt net, while getting both will give 3 pts/missing both will give -3 pts. So do you have a gambling spirit? 3. Team Positions (All managed teams) Bournemouth: 17 Lincoln: 16 Carlisle: 5 Cheltenham: 1 Oxford: 4 Mansfield: 6 Plymouth: 20 Luton: 2 Swindon: 7 Scunthorpe: 15 Pointscale: 5 pts - for calling the positon 3.5 pts - being 1 off 2.5 pts - being 2 off 2 pts - being 3 off 1.5 pts - being 4 off 1 pt - being 5 off 0 pts - being 6-7 off -1 pt - being 8-9 off -2 pts - being 10-12 off 0 pts - for unlucky 13 -5 pts - being 14+ off - what the hell were you thinking? The deadline for all these parts are prior to the January 14th round. Last league round prior is the January 4th, and this will be the latest update (and real deadline) so if some games gets scheduled between those two rounds they will not get updated. Also don't worry there will be another post with more parts to this prediction challenge similar to what last seasons prediction challenge had, so we will still do individual accomplishments. NOW for the REWARD!! 1. The current manager reputation of the winner will be increased by 750-1500 pts depending on your previous reputation. (Managers below 3500 will get 1500, managers over 5000 will get 750. For those in between they will use from the 1500 base to get to 5000, and will be rewarded half of the remaining points for the rest.) These points will be added to the score based on what you have after this season, not what you have now. 2. You will also be awarded job security (pretty much what you get in #1 above, but if that isnt enough to land you a new job, should you get sacked, I will alter it so that you do). Also if you want to restart (dont see why) you will be allowed to get a D2 team for winning the contest. No more starting over in D3. Also if you win this for the second time you will be allowed to get a D1 team or any team in D2 not currently under human management. Nice price coming up for winning it 3 times 3. This is for all: All that participates in the prediction will get to increase one of their players based on their score in the prediction challenge. (This increase will not make a superstar out of someone out of the blue, but there should be some improvement to this player) You can also e-mail your picks to me to and I will add them to the thread after the deadline to keep your winning picks from other managers. E-mail in your prediction

Hey Heath are you here. Did you go on vacation or something. My guys are going to get lazy with all this sitting around I need them in tip top shape to make the playoffs. CK
Ok. Simmed another full round an a half. So two new games for you. And it is all updated at the mirror site. (Might be 3 fresh games as I think one round was simmed and not updated last time) But be careful what you ask for. I dont think you would like the results too much, although you won the last game, as Jensen broke his ankle and willl be out for the season.
Another update - trade deadline in 6 days, if anyone would like to see into making a trade, then make some noise here before we move on up (tomorrow at the earliest). Trade Funds: Carlisle: 10.5M Bournemouth: 6.5M Lincoln: 2.1M Cheltenham: 1.8M Mansfield: 1.6M Oxford: 1.4M Swindon: 1.2M Plymouth: 325k Scunthorpe: 180k Luton: 0 Of course there is also the option of loaning a Mansfield player or two to turn your team around (way to go Swindon) or any other team for that matter (although the success is not as likely then )
Heath I would like to find a MC to replace the injured Jensen. Will you be around today. email me and let me know of a good time to catch you. I should be around most of the day. CK
West Ham just appointed Grimsby Towns manager so if anyone wants to apply for the open spot at Grimsby say so here, or in chat. Grimsby has insecure financial situation and awful facilities (training ground). What they do however have going for them is that they currently is #2 in D1 with 3 games remaining. (of course - if you want them only if they promote, then you could try and have ice-vains and wait on apllying to after the season, and hope they dont apply a new manager to fast) Also - Textfiles updated at mirror, but NOTHING else.
FYI for everyone. I hav elisted a few players so I will post them here so you can see them. If you are interested in any let me know: 1) Stephen Halliday 725k 2) John Convery 525k 3) Mo Harkin 375k 4) Tony Hopper 175k 6) Dave Rogers 240k 7) James Turley 675k 8) Scott Willis 275k Before anyone asks the numbers don't katch up because some of the players I listed with heath are almost out of contract and will be let go anyway. CK
Some very good players Castor is letting go. Turley should be considered by most. Convery is also a good defender that could thrive in another club, but in Carlisle he has plenty of extremly good players ahead of him. Halliday also could have a new career at a new club. The other 4 listed is not bad players either, but you should go all out for #5 on Castors list.
