    changes in my prediction:

    D3:

    MoM: Alan Shearer

Part III will remain open for changes/prediction until next update - so SF3/Manny you still can make yours for part 3.

You played a friday game - and I wanted to move up to the saturday round, so it is just that you have played your game this round, while the others have not.

16 teams left in the FA Cup (5th round).

and two of them human teams - we are starting to get some quality when we can hang in the FA Cup that long.

DV - you have an offer (again) for Stuart Roberts - I have rejected a lot of them, but now it is for 650k - thats a lot for a player you really dont use. I would do one of two things - sell him or consider using him more. I'm not telling what I would do =)

boville - you got an offer for Goodhind - 190k, also a good offer so I didnt know if I should reject it or not, so I negotiated it up to 250k. If you want to sell, just tell so ASAP. If I get a response (from the offering team) from the negotiation before you answer I will probably reject it.

manny - other teams are trying to sign Goodyear - so if you want to keep him you better give him a new contract before it is to late. He could decide to move on any day now.

SF3 - Rotherham offer 500k!!!! for Way. (That is his set value, but his auto is below 100k) - if you consider selling him - come into the chat ASAP -before we move on. 500k + could go a long way reparing some of your shot economy.

Another textfiles update - also screens at trollnet updated (Squad Screen, Reserve (stats) Screen and Selected Match)

I'm ready with the game in chat if anyone wants to do anything - will also start a new round after that (round is ready now, but will probably wait a bit before starting it)

Prediction update (Part I - Champions)

    Premier League:
Manchester United top the premiership standings, but they are in a dead race with Liverpool. Leeds is also in with an outsider chance of catching up (7 pts behind). Whatever happens in the premiership will not decide who wins the challenge as all put Manchester United as winners. Although getting it right will increase points for all for the participation bonus.

    First Division:
Manchester City now tops the first division, but the race is open between 5 teams. Following City is Norwich, Coventry, Carlisle and Cardiff. Crewe have fallen out of the race and is currently 8th.

5 of 8 went with leading Norwich, who lead with 4 pts at the time, but now they are 1pt behind in 2nd, but have played one more game than City. Coventry are 2 pts out of 1st, Carlisle 3 (1 game in hand) and Cardiff 6 pts behind.

    Man City (#1): (Heath)
Norwich: (#2 - 1pt behind/1 more game played): (SF3, Castor, Manny, DV, Zac)
Crewe (#8 - 16 pts out/1 game in hand): (Nomar, Pued)

    Second Division:
The second division will also have no effect on the challenge as all 8th went with Lincoln and their 7pt lead at the time. That lead was built up to 16pts at one time but have come crashing down to 11 after the sale of Novo. Should Lincoln fall completly apart it is an open race behind them, with Bournemouth and Oldham leading the pack now.

    Third Division:
Southend had a 5pt lead at the deadline but have fallen down to 5th after the sale of Runar Normann to Stockport. The race is still open and any of the top 5 could end up as champions. Oxford is the only one of the top 5 that has not been predicted as Champion - they are currently 3rd, 3 pts behind leading Boston.

    Boston (#1): (Zac)
    Swindon (#2 - 1 pt out): (SF3, Heath)
    Plymouth (#4 - 4 pts out): (DV)
Southend: (#5 - 8 pts out): (Castor, Manny, Nomar, Pued)

    Conference:
Barnet is yet again the leader of the conference. They held a 3pt lead at the deadline but was passed by Margate that open up a lead of 5-6 pts. Now they are back in the lead and hold a 2pt edge on Margate. Other teams with outside chance in catching up: Stafford R, Southport, Hartlepool

Barnet (#1): (SF3, Manny, Nomar, Pued, Zac)
    Margate (#2 - 2 pts out): (Castor)
Scarborough (#7 - 13 pts out): (Heath, DV)

I've been so busy with other things that I just noticed that post about Goodyear.

I guess give him what he wants if it is reasonable (I'll let you use your judgment on that).

Prediction update (Part II - Manager Team Positions)

    Pointscale:
5 pts - for calling the positon
    3.5 pts - being 1 off
    2.5 pts - being 2 off
    2 pts - being 3 off
    1.5 pts - being 4 off
    1 pt - being 5 off
    0 pts - being 6-7 off
    -1 pt - being 8-9 off
    -2 pts - being 10-12 off
    0 pts - for unlucky 13
-5 pts - being 14+ off - what the hell were you thinking?

    Carlisle -- Currently 4th

The position of Carlisle United will make a big impact on the prediction challenge. When the season started they had some problems adjusting to the new level of First Division football and had placed themself just above the relegation struggle. But the standings were pretty close, so that allowed for big changes to come. Maybe because of Lincoln City failing miserably last season as they were new in First Division had effect on the predictions being a little held back. Anyway -- Carlisle fought themself up the charts and were around 6-9 when the deadline came up. They have continued climbing after that, and peaked as they hit #1 a few rounds back. They are currently 4th, and one of 5 teams fighting for the First Division championship.

    Scoring as of now:

#4: 5 pts -- Carlisle United own manager, Castor
    #6: 2.5 pts -- Heath, SF3
    #14: -2 pts -- Zac, Manny
    #16: -2 pts -- Pued
    #18: -5 pts -- Nomar*
    #20: -5 pts -- DV*

*) both qualifying for the "What the hell were you thinking" award

    Lincoln City -- Currently 1st

Pued and his team had a nice lead, and an impressive form when the deadline hit, so all predicted Lincoln to win Second Division. So far, so good:

#1: 5 pts -- Castor, Heath, SF3, Zac, Manny, Pued, Nomar, DV

    Swansea City -- Currently 4th

All had faith that Swansea would be a top team too, the impact will be getting the position right, as all had them 2-4. Of course if they go further down that will benefit those going for #4.

    #2: 2.5 pts (DV, Heath, SF3)
    #3: 3.5 pts (Pued)
#4: 5 pts (Zac, Nomar, Manny, Castor)

    Hull City -- Currently 14th

Hull had a good start to the season, and that lead to some high predictions for Hull. At the moment they have slipped back a bit, so a more moderate predictions seems better now.

    #6: -1 pt (Manny, Pued)
    #7: 0 pts (Nomar)
    #8: 0 pts (Zac)
    #9: 1 pt (DV)
    #10: 1.5 pts (Castor)
    #13: 3.5 pts (SF3)
    #14: 5 pts (Heath)

Totals so far for part II

    16.5 pts -- Castor
    15 pts -- Heath
    13.5 pts -- SF3
    8 pts -- Zac
    7 pts -- Manny
    5.5 pts -- Pued
    5 pts -- Nomar
    3.5 pts -- DV

    Cheltenham Town -- Currently 5th

Being new to Second Division after promoting through the playoffs after a late run not many had predicted Cheltenham to be in the running for another promotion. Even manage Zac himself stated that when predicting his team to be #6 that it was just him hoping. Well - looks like hope and a winning spirit can take you far, as Cheltenham is still in with a chance for direct promotion.

    #5: 5 pts (Castor)
    #6: 3.5 pts (Zac, SF3)
    #7: 2.5 pts (Nomar)
    #8: 2 pts (Heath)
    #9: 1.5 pts (Manny)
    #12: 0 pts (DV)
    #13: -1 pts (Pued)

    Mansfield Town -- Currently 8th
It has been an uphill battle for Mansfield this year with injury problems. Hopefully the problems are behind them and they can get in the fight for the playoffs. All the problems can prove to make a difference in the prediction challenge though as predictions range from 5 to 14. Mansfield boss Heath has all faith that his team will atleast secure a 5th place.

    #5: 2 pts (Heath, Zac, SF3)
    #9: 3.5 pts (Nomar)
    #10: 2.5 pts (DV)
    #12: 1.5 pts (Manny)
    #13: 1 pt (Pued)
    #14: 0 pts (Castor)

    Luton Town -- Currently 22nd
Luton Town had a good streak just about when the prediction were due, but have struggled mightily since. Looks like those predicting Luton furthest down will score most here.

    #12: -2 pts (Nomar)
    #14: -1 pt (SF3)
    #15: 0 pts (Heath)
    #16: 0 pts (Zac)
    #17: 1 pt (Manny)
    #18: 1.5 pts (DV)
    #19: 2 pts (Pued, Castor)

Totals so far for part II

    23.5 pts -- Castor
    19 pts -- Heath
    18 pts -- SF3
    13.5 pts -- Zac
    11 pts -- Manny
    9 pts -- Nomar
    7.5 pts -- Pued
    7.5 pts -- DV

    Plymouth Argyle -- Currently 4th
All contestants agree that Plymouth will be a top team this year, with predictions ranging from 1 to 4. So far Plymouth are living up to expectations as they are still in the race for the championship, and also have opened up a gap to the teams behind.

    #1: 2 pts (DV)
    #2: 2.5 pts (Zac)
#3: 3.5 pts (Pued, Nomar, Heath, Castor)
    #4: 5 pts (Manny, SF3)

    Swindon Town -- Currently 2nd
Swindon had a firm grip around the first spot until severe injury troubles hit. They fell down as far as 8-9. This can be why some predicted them a bit low, but after the players starting coming back they fought all the way back and regained the first place. At the moment they are in the race among 4-5 teams to win the division.

    #1: 3.5 pts (Heath, SF3)
    #5: 2 pts (Castor, DV)
    #6: 1.5 pts (Pued)
#7: 1 pt (Zac, Nomar, Manny)

    Scunthorpe United - Currently 15th
Scunthorpe also started out as one of the better teams in the division, but as they were forced to sell Danny Boxall their defense fell apart and theyare currently in no mans land.

    #6: -1 pt (DV)
    #10: 1 pt (Manny)
    #11: 1.5 pts (Pued, Nomar, SF3)
    #12: 2 pts (Zac)
    #14: 3.5 pts (Heath)
    #19: 1.5 pts (Castor)

    Current Totals for Part II

    30.5 pts -- Castor
    29.5 pts -- Heath
    28 pts -- SF3
    19 pts -- Zac
    18 pts -- Manny
    15 pts -- Nomar
    14 pts -- Pued
    10.5 pts -- DV

No problem Manny - I guess my judgment doesnt count anymore as he decided to sign elsewhere. He is not a big loss IMO, but of course he could have helped your defense - now you will never know.

Another textfile update - this might also be the last before the trading deadline that comes up in a 6 CM days, so this mean part IV of the prediction challenge is due.

This also means that if you need/want to get a transfer in this season you need to get it down ASAP.

Order of CM today. I will go into the chat soon so anybody that wants to fix transfers/contracts etc can do that. We will probably start the last round before the transfer deadline in a couple of hours. After the round it will be 5-6 CM days remaining until the transfer deadline again, so I will stop up to give more transfer time if needed. I might also update the textfiles for a last time before the deadline at this point, but that is not certain.

To remind everybody about the special deadline for part IV - this is only for the 2.5 pt version - you can choose to wait until the regualr season is over to pick your playoff winner to get 1 pt instead. Remember that playoff teams are the 4 behind the teams in direct promotion. (D1-D2: 3-6, D3: 4-7). You can combine deadline's too if you want. I will probably wait to see the playoff teams until I make my pick for some.

    My picks:

D1: Alternative deadline - waiting for the playoffs.
D2: Mansfield Town - IMO the chances for me to be in the playoffs are good, and when I'm there I have to pick me to win.
D3: Alternative deadline - waiting for the playoffs.

For those in need of some players I have some quality Mansfield players available - for loan or transfer, mostly loan only but a permanent transfer can be discussed too.

    Shayne Bradley
    Marc Cleeland
    Paul Cuss
    Richard Dell
    Dominic Elliott
    Gary Fisken
    Gary Hodgson
    Peter Hogg
    Lee Jones
    Henrik Kristensen
    Ryan Maye
Steve Phillips - only loan with guarantee of use - 1 month
Graeme Porter - only loan with guarantee of use
    Dan Rownham
    David Savage
    Chris Walker
    Andy White

Don't be fooled by their status at Mansfield - some real talent on this list. Maybe the next Michael Sisson (why did I ever let him go) is on this list.

    Team update:

Cheltenham: Correia (10 days) and Hopkins (3 weeks) injured
    Lincoln: Salli (1 game) suspended
Plymouth: Barwick (1 game) suspended, Challinor (few days) injured, Meca (5 months) surgery
Scunthorpe: Bone (3 weeks), Davis (10 days) and Fradin (few days) injured
Luton: Culkin (1 game) suspended, Wicks (10 days) injured
Swansea: Amoros (1 month), O'Leary (3 weeks), Phillips (a week), Haraldsson (few days), Roberts (few days) injured - Hinds signed
Carlisle: Turley (2 weeks) and Johnson (2 weeks) injured
Swindon: Bubb (3 games) suspended, Roberts (few days), Invincibile (1 day) injured

As there were no weekend round before the deadline this will be the last update before it. I have a newer update as we have passed the trading deadline, but I will give everybody a chance to put in their part IV predictions before sending it up later today.

If you want to make changes to your earlier predictions you need to post a new post so you do not get an "edit" stamp on other parts where the deadline has passed

Part IV were to predict playoff winners for First Division, Second Division and Third Division. You can also go by the alternative deadline/scoring, but then you need to post that if you already delivered a previous prediction.

Hopefully I will be back early enough from work today so we can do round later in the chat. (Next round coming up is the 10.04.05 round)

another textfiles update - only 3 rounds to go... season will probably be finished tomorrow. Be in chat for the conclusion....

We can already congratulate one team with promotion, and it is Plymouth - congrats boville - Second Division next year... sending Meca away for rehabilitation didnt hurt at all, and having him back early next season could be key...

another textfile update ... season is over... only playoffs remaining, so part IV of the predictions challenge is due.

I will update part 1 and 2 scores (premier league still have 1 round remaining - Manchester United lead with 1 pt, so if they dont win the last round Liverpool might steal the league)

Prediction update (Part I - Champions)

    Premier League:
Manchester United lead Liverpool with 1 pt before the final round - all have United so whatever happens will not affect the challenge.

    First Division:
Man City won the league - 8 pts ahead of Norwich, and only one had them - and that was me.

    Second Division:
Lincoln held on for their life to win the league with just a pt margin ahead of Bournemouth in the end. All had Lincoln so all get the points.

    Third Division:
Plymouth stormed on to win D3 with a massive 13 pt margin as most of the other teams faltered - Swindon even fell all the way down to 8, and they were ahead of Plymouth last update. Only DV had predicted Plymouth.

    Conference:
It looked to be a race between Barnet and Margate, but in the end it were Margate and the rest as they won the league ahead of the pack, lead by Barnet 7 pts behind. Castor were the only one picking Margate.

    Scoring Part I:
    Heath 9
    DV 9
    Castor 9
    Pued 6
    Zac 6
    Nomar 6
    SF3 6
    Manny 6
