I mentioned in the chat a while back that I could start a football (soccer that is for you that do not play football with your feets) sim league using championship manager. I wanted to wait for the new game to do this but today I downloaded the demo and luck have it that I can use the demo until the game is released october 12th. The game can run several leagues, but the demo can only run the english league (premiership, div 1, div 2, div 3, conference) so if we start up asap we will have to go with that. I would prefer that we used the conference as our league as the teams are pretty even here. At the end of a season, 1 team is promoted to div 3, while 3 teams take the step out of the league system. If we went with premiership teams there would be a big differnce between taking/getting a top team and getting a worse off team. So I suggest The Conference League or Division 3. When I add a manager I need this info: First name: Second name: Nationality: (I could just put English for all as we play in the english league, but if you want to be a foreign manager in england I can put in your nationality.) Team selected: I do not need your name, but I need something to put in both areas for the name. If you want to use your bbs-moniker I can put first name = Manager and Second name = Moniker. That way I would be Manager Heath. If you want to check out conference teams try: http://www.e-soccer.com/nonleague_teams.asp This list have 4 teams that do not belong in the conference anymore (welling, kingstonian, kettering, hednesford). New teams in are: Margate Stalybridge Celtic Leigh RMI Dag & Red Boston Utd I can add some info to help for the team selection. Ok finances does not mean you have any money, you could even be in debt. The 2 numbers are the capacity of your home stadium with the 2nd number being number of sitting places. When you sign up for one of these team the board will have expectations to your job, fail to meet them and you risk getting sacked and finding yourself in the unemployment que. Expect respectable league position: Stevenage Boston Barnet Doncaster Chester Leigh RMI Dag & Red Northwich Victoria Southport Yeovil If you chose one of the above team and finish in the bottom half you risk your job. The Board might even sack you if you have a low position during the season. Expext to stay clear of relegation (relegation=bottom 3): Farnbourough Stalybridge Morecambe Hereford Margate Nuneaton Telford Finish bottom 3 or battle against relegation during the season and your position might be in danger. Battle bravely against relegation Forest Green Hayes Scarbourough Dover Woking You wont risk your job with these teams unless you really suck. Of coure if you finish in the bottom 3 there will be no team to manage as they fall out of the league. If you lose your job there is a chance that you can get a new one if you apply to be the manager for a team without a manager. There are a million stats, ratings and options in this game so we will have to figure out how we can best create a good flowing league within this game. So what do you think? Questions? Or just join up - well do it below.
well if I take a team we will now be 9 teams and that could be a good start (btw the game only allows 16 managers, so there is not so many openings left) I'll fire the game up, add the managers, and start to think of how to give you guys all the info that is needed. The game can produce files for two aspects so I'll add those to the page. 1 for each team, and 1 for the league. But there is so much more info in the game, and I need tofigure out how to run it smoothly. To give you all relevant info, and not givingme to much of a job. Btw if you download the demo you can see how complez the game is in its stats, ratings and options. Examples of how the team page and league page will look can be seen here: http://home.no.net/midgaard/cmleague/ At the moment this is just an example, and the real page will come later. Haven, can you get into that page - or do we need to ask if I can upload to castor's site?
I was planning on taking Farnbourough, but I can't leave VOR as the only one with low expectations (battle bravely against relegation) so I will go with Forest Green. First Name: Håvard Second Name: Thomassen Nationality: Norwegian Team: Forest Green Rovers I'll start up the game now, but I don't expect much to happen before next week. We now have 10 of maximum 16 managers.
With DV taking Farnbourough I couldnt have taken them anyway... but we now have 11 of maximum 16 managers (the league has 22 teams so there will be some computer teams to battle with too) And props to Castor for taking Hereford - the only team with insecure economy.
And as I add the managers I see that VOR has changed his team to Morecambe. Well I don't think there are to much separating the teams anyway, so I'm aiming for the title and the promotion. Current managers added: Chester - Band Geek Mobster Doncaster - Manager SteveFrancis3 Farnbourough - David Vauthrin Forest Green - Håvard Thomassen (Heath) Hereford - Manager Castor Morecambe - Micah Kerr (VOR) Northwich - Manager Franchise Leigh RMI - Manager Haven Stalybridge - Zac Desmond Telford - Patrick Jaeger (Puedlfor) Yeovil - Manager Nomar
Can i have Alan Scherer on my team Heath? Hes my favorite soccer player. I could score with that dude every time on World Cup 98.
Yes, sure you can have Shearer. You just need to buy him from Newcastle. And agree to a contract. What do you say? You don't have the money, and Shearer will never agree to play in the conference. Damn, will that mean I can not get David Beckham to play for me either? You could try to get any player you like, but do not expect any good players to move down to our minor league. You will need to find cheaper players that are better than the other cheap players down in the conference league. Castor, I do not think I can change your data after I added you, but If I can I will.
heath i apologize for taking the team you wanted so we can buy and sell players from teams, but dont expect great players to take our offers to join the minor leagues essentially, right
Yes, buy and sell - you dont trade players - you buy and sell them. The econimy is important, and most of you will find that you have no economy, so you will have to breed players, and sell them expensive (to a higher division). Then you can buy cheap players form each other, the computer teams, or rejects from higher divisions, or up and coming guys from lower divisions (the lower teams are there to buy from but they don't have a division in the game so we could not start lowerthan the conference. btw I uploaded the first info to the page. This is not enough, and I will have to find a way to give you more info, without it being to much of a workload. I also know that haven probably can not access the page, so we will move it to castors server later, probably tomorrow. http://home.no.net/midgaard/cmleague/ and I also picked Forest Green before I realized that you had taken Farnborough DV.
