Clyde Drexler is just repeating what Bill Worrell says

ive noticed the trend the very first game he commented

I can stomach Drexler. Bullard just flat out sucks. And neither of them acts like a color commentator that actually supports the Rockets.

I can imagine Bill Worrell going at every single game. I yearn for the Murphy days.

 

Yeah lol. Especially when it hits rim, and he says "nothing but net"....He does that ALOT.

 

Bullard isn't that great, but he's better than Drexler. He at least displays some knowledge about the game.

 

I disagree. Bullard is much better than Clyde. He's a decent play by play...too bad we already have Worrell. Now when it comes to color commentating...I agree they are horrible color commentators.

 

Well thats the thing that I hate about other commentators....

Do you have to suck up everything your team does...I mean just be real

If its a travel, its a travel, if its a foul, its a foul

Just say it how it is....don't suck on your teams lollipop, its just fake and makes me not watch tv

 

Clyde Drexler would fit in well on this board. Plenty of people just repeat what sports writers/TV commentators/other posters say.

 

Has the media been talking about how bad JVG sucks?

Clyde uses "nothing but net" for airballs too, even though they dont even touch the net

 

LOL - you find one guy, and say the board is emulating him...come on Van, you know I was being sarcastic.

The board is brutal at times, but only because of passion, I actually believe the media FOLLOWS this board, not the other way around.

There are some very knowledgeable fans on this board.....and in the media...

True... for the most part.

This board is great for most days, but when the Rockets lose a game, it's "A sucks", "trade B for C", "Play X more", "What's wrong with K", "Yao should learn to cuss out teammates from Bynum"

 

Clyde "The Parrot" Drexler adds absolutely nothing to the telecast. I expect the color commentator to provide insights and nuances the average fan doesn't pick up on...nada, nothing, boring!

What if the Rowdies started chanting "Bring Back Calvin Murphy" at the home games? It just might get the ball rolling.

Worrel and Drexler/Bullard are the equivalent of a diabetic dinner.

 

And that is why I don't come here after a game.

stop hating on Clyde. he has recently improved his commentating significantly by cutting the "nothing but net" crap.

my newest favorite part:

Bill Worrell: "Rockets are playing great defense tonight Clyde"
Clyde: "I tell you what Bill, Rockets are just playing great Defense!"

and the best single by Worrell:

Bill starts singing "Yao Miiiiiiiiing, Yao Ming Yao Ming Yao Miiiiing. Yao Miing, Yao Miiiiing" for about 3 minutes non-stop. probably because he was tired of Clyde repeating what he says.
