Errr. The same JVG said he wanted three point guards. And KB is not a pure point -- he is a combo guard who can play the 2 as well (and very likely will log more minutes in that role than at the point, which was what he did mostly in Panathinaikos anyway). I get the feeling some of you guys just tend to want to argue for the sake of it. Lucas and Spanoulis will both get enough playing time if they earn it. You should be happy that we have depth to even boast of.

Agree. I just wish in the Rudy Gay trade our management team hadn't failed to gain the 24th pick from Memphis. Alexander Johnson might have been wearing a Rockets uniform rather than a Grizzly one. Then our PF position would have had a more optimistic look.

The Rockets didn't need the 24th pick to get Alexander Johnson. He was still available in the 2nd round when they selected the Hayraz at 44. West must have been jumping for joy and salivating when he saw Houston pass AJ up. Memphis grabbed Johnson with the next pick, 45.

I still don't understand why they passed this bruiser up for a SF prospect when they knew they'd be losing Swift. Maybe they'll land a better PF through a trade. Memphis has already signed A. Johnson to a multi-year deal. I think he has a lot of potential.

there is no way CD would pay vspan for less than 2 mils a year for just being a 3rd sting guard. never has been finalized yet, as we are still trying to add couple more pieces.

pg- alston/JL3/vspan/sura (let just say sura can play few mins)
SG - *tmac*/synder/head (pretend tmac start at 2)

if this is the case than head is the odd man out with vspan who can also be login in some PT. of course we will than be missing head's 3s.

    pg- alston/vspan/JL3
    SG -synder/head/vspan

this is a better distribution for our guards. Given the fact that we signed vspan before JL3, i believed CD think vspan will have more PT at the 2 guards.
he is more important than JL3 to us.

I had forgotten they picked him up at #45. That makes me despair even more. West IMO definitely would have tossed in a second-rounder, and we would have had Johnson with a non-guaranteed contract.

Since we are in the process of acquiring raw, young players in contradiction to the espoused "win now" policy, I hope management will find a PF with promise. Another Kirk Synder-like acquisition at PF would do wonders for my guarded optimism for the season.
