Why is Doc tweeting so, un-cryptically?

 

I've been on the Doc twitter train since it's inception in the summer.

His tweets are consistently far less cryptic than his posts.

 

that twitter handle is in his sig....so it's him. Sounds like, based off of his tweets, that the strategy might be to get Smith here and have dwight sign in the offseason?

 

Then the Rockets would have to clear enough salary in the Josh Smith trade to be able to to still offer a max contract to DH12 this summer. Doable but a big gamble!!! The trade for J. Smith would have to include both Asik and Lin to still have the cap space necessary to offer Howard the max. If it was a slam dunk I'd do it but thats a lot to giveup if Howard isn't a sure thing.

Trading for Josh Smith before the deadline is a HUGE gamble. Hoping Dwight will sign because of it.

 

I think the player that Harden is trying to recruit is CP3. They've so far been inseparable this All-star weekend.

 

I can't decifer docs riddles for sh#t.

But I love the idea of trading for smith at the deadline, then letting Morey work out the money between Smith and Dwight in the offseason.

Dwight/Smith/Parsons/Harden + good role players =championship.

 

I just don't see why Paul would want to come here when he's already in a great situation.
ESPECIALLY if KG ends up being traded there.

Unless Paul, Dwight & Harden playing together is some sort of secret plan.

I read it a different way. I read it like it's a gamble to wait till the summer and try to get Dwight when we could get Smith for a decent price here at the trade deadline...

Danny Ferry might still hold out hope to use JSmoove to lure Dwight, and dangle Horford as trade bait.

Hell, he might do that anyway.

Harden'll be talking to DH12 anyway. If he wants Houston, he'll say so, and we'll try to trade for him. If not, we'll go to Plans B and C.

We can't afford Harden, Jsmoove, Lin, and DH12. Not really.

Hell, getting ONE star is tough enough without Morey getting mega-ultra-greedy. I like big ideas, too, but if I may fall into Star Wars nerd-speak: "The more you tighten your grip, Governor Tarkin, the more systems will slip through your fingers."

Or maybe the chorus of Kenny Rogers' "The Gambler" would be fitting if Morey's plan were Smith and Howard.

Now, I could MAYBE see getting Reddick and Jsmoove, Reddick being the third guard in a small lineup to replace the not-gonna-happen Eric Gordon-to-Houston idea.

 

If something does happen...just don't screw up the future and doom this team to being mediocre
