Not to over-analyze this comment...but I will. What does quantum mechanics have to do with Doc's riddle?

Schrodinger was obsessed with concepts of two competing outcomes or realities being one and the paradox of viewing them as one, until ultimately one reality presents itself. But prior to tht disclosure the reality is both, opposite concepts coexisting as one reality.

Like his cat: prior to seeing it dead or alive, it's both dead and alive.

Does this have something to do with GMs not being able to talk to players so they use back-channels or Kubcheck's strong public statements about not trading Howard even though its also a real possibility?

    Deep Doc...deep.

This would never happen too many egos invlovled...a 5 team trade with big names like this and big markets...and cuban...I am completely pulling this from the sky...but I would say ...that has never happened.

I would think the paradox in which doc is suggesting is trading Parsons/Asik or Keeping them ...acquiring Howard or not. What is better? From on perspective the team is thriving and has cap space to add more talent without giving those guys up. On the other hand you have what is possibly the best 1-2 punch in the NBA. It is both bad and good...that's the reality in the current state is both.

The competing outcomes before disclosure like his cat being both dead and alive...the competing outcomes of this trade are both good and bad.

This thread became depressing the moment Parsons' name came up. I'm out.

    Just to piggyback on this...

If everyone just does a simple google search for "july 12 2012 nba trade rumors", your minds will be blown away. I guarantee it.

What makes more sense is a massive trade for KLove that hurts. Going to have to give up a lot of assets tip get him. We will have to wait and sign Dwight outright.

    Lin
    Harden
    Chandler (hopefully)
    Dwight
    Love

Bench full of second rounders and dleague guys.

Asik and young guys to Minnesota for Love. Minnesota will be looking for a center after they let Pek walk this summer. Then sign Dwight outright or send Lakers leftovers for him if they want to.

Why not just go for Howard this summer and then use Asik as tradebait to get a PF upgrade? How about this...Howard agrees to sign here as a FA for max money. Then let's say Atlanta (who didn't make a trade for Smith at the deadline) is open to a sign and trade for J. Smith instead of giving him a max deal. Well rumor has it they want a young center in any deal for Smith. So we deal Asik, J. Lin, DMo and picks to Atlanta for Smith this summer. Not bad and it works cap wise (I think).

Couldn't the time machine reference mean Howard goes back in time to play with his old High School running mate J. Smith?

So who plays PG for us in this trade of yours? Don't say James. He's a natural 2.

With that lineup YOU could play PG and Rockets still win 50 games. In seriousness....you find the best D-league/Vet minimum PG you can.

i dont agree with that at all. Just look at the Lakers. Let's say you're right though, that we can get by with a scrub PG. Why would the Hawks want Lin when they have a realy good PG already? And why the hell would Morey give up that much to get Josh Smith?

wth did you just say... think about what you said for a second...

Lakers have Steve Nash and are outside of the playoffs...

Heat have Mario Chalmers and are defending champions. Wow
