You have to read the thread title in NBA Jam voice to get the full effect.

The premise is pretty clear: if Donald "make America great again" Trump is the nominee for the Republican ballot, and Hillary "you've got mail" Rodham Clinton is the nominee for the Democrat ballot, who would you personally vote for, and why?

NOT who do you think would win, but where would your vote go when you step up to the ballot box.

    Poll results are public.

I would vote for Donald Trump.

I don't really care for either candidate, and I'm not optimistic about the country's future under either person's leadership, but the entertainment value of 4 years of state of the union speeches and guaranteed impromptu appearances "Trumps" Hillary by a New York mile.

Third party person is unknown. I'd vote for Bernie Sanders if he was third party, but there's no guarantee there. Very well could be Ted Cruz.

No vote is just not fun.

In this scenario, Trump is the 4 year party bus that might end up in Cabo, which is better than what the other candidate can offer.

    Pretty much.

My fantasy scenario is Sanders vs. Paul, which would be a nightmare scenario for some. Very different from an economic policy, but could bring into focus certain issues that I think most Americans would support Bi-Partisan.

Say what you will about Ms. Clinton, but she would run a status quo administration. Nothing would be very different from Mr. Obama and that's just fine. Business likes certainty, they like grid-lock.

You could look back at what I said about Mr. Obama in 2007 and I called the tenure of the 8 years pretty much spot on. Turns out he wasn't the debbil and neither is Ms. Clinton.

But since I live in Texas and my vote for a democrat doesn't count, I might vote for a third party just to give their ideas some shred of credibility.

    No vote.

But then again, nothing could get me to vote.

If Trump wins the Republican nomination I vote for whoever the Democratic party nominates on general principal.

That's a good argument. I don't like her. I think she's corrupt. I think she would be a poor leader. I think she'd sell us all out for her own aggrandizement. I'd rather have a visionary leader trying to make our country better. But, in the Trump-vs-Hilary scenario, that option is already out the window. So, maybe damage control is the best guiding principle at that point. She'd do less damage than Trump (especially if Congress remains Republican).

The thing that is making it harder and harder to get behind Trump (besides his big mouth, but I sort of love that) are his supporters. The idea that I would vote alongside some of the people who are pro-Trump just doesn't sit very well with me. Some of the things they write and believe is mind boggling. I still like Trump over Hillary, though. Let's finally turn this thing into the circus it is and then sit back and enjoy the show. Government is pretty much a joke anyway. Let's go all-in.
