Sounds like someone wants Patrick included in a trade for a PG.:p

They didn't operate because that's likely going to leave him with less stability, than just doing rehab and rolling with that. Lesser of two evils, i guess.

I wonder if Morey runs some stats on medical staff's performance. I thought Phoenix's was one of the best. And the Rockets's...

The only thing Phoenix was really doing was looking at the body as a whole and correcting their mechanics. Traditionally, if a player had a bad ankle, they'd focus on treating and fixing the ankle. They'd brace it, ice it, rest it, shoot it up with steroids, etc, and eventually operate, if none of that worked.

However, if the problem is a stiff hip that's altering the leg's alignment, and therefore the ankle's, treating the ankle doesn't fix anything. I'm not sure of the numbers, but the rest of the league has to be catching up by now. It's all the rage lately, correcting mechanics to improve performance, prevent injuries, or fix painful issues.

Data driven.. The critical issue is that what is best for the Rockets might not be what is the best for Bev. Sure, they can keep him running until he hits free agency. Perhaps at no cost to Houston and a lot of cost to Bev? I also think it is in Rocket's interest to keep him cheap.

I guess we will just wait and see. Bev's condition next season would be the ultimate test on whether the players are really treated like assets in Houston..

    Or not.

Although I suppose if you already think that way, another injury to Bev will convince you that you were right and let you shake your fist at Morey with that much more petulant fury.

Yep, the difference is that Landry's knee issue wasn't broadcasted to the league. To me this article is saying to other GM's think twice before asking for Patbev to be included in a trade or before offering him big money as a RFA.

Uh, yes it was during contract negotiations, by the Rockets. The type of move the team is coming to be known for.

We shouldn't worry so much. After all, Mr. 94 Feet has an adamantium exoskeleton.

Remember that summer when the Rockets made it known that they demanded that Landry gets his knee scoped before offering him a contract?

Rockets mustvhavevrun every test out there on him. And if any player could deal with an injury like this, it is PatBev.

Geesh, who will be our starting point guard if Dude goes down? Similarly, who will be our backup point guard?
