Surprised no stats geek or any other basketball mind can break down our horrible defensive collapse this year. Glad to see Clutch acknowledging Harden being the problem.

JB is there honestly to lead a team into mediocrity and out of the playoff picture. Sorry to say it but he's a lame duck here - Houston needs to finish in the lotto to retain the 1st round pick they gave away for Lawson. Houston finishing 7 or 8 and getting crushed in the first round by the Warriors/Spurs does little to make us a better team next year. Bickerstaff isn't a good coach, but he's exactly what this team needs right now if they want to miss the playoffs and start to rebuild again.

On point with everything you said. I'm a fan regardless, but seeing our Rockets play like this just hurts. Hope DM can fix things. In DM we trust.

I don't see how Harden even playing average defense makes this team that much better. Everyone on the roster has regressed a lot defensively so Harden playing defense like he did last year isn't going to change much. Sure would love to see him step up and own it but even if he does this team just isn't good.

Morey said we are terrible at guarding 3s this year.

I think an underappreciated problem is ho many of our turnovers lead to easy baskets this year. It's a killer

Perhaps when they see their leader show some effort on defense instead of giving zero ****s will translate into others upping their game defensively

I find it hard to believe that 3-4 plus defenders surrounding Harden can all of a sudden all become worse at the same time. To me its simple. They are sick and tired of Harden's diva attitude of playing zero D, not even trying at that end and then going down the other end and taking all plaudits while they are left to cover for him defensively.

Sorry I can't buy that grown ass men who are getting paid millions would become petty children like that. Hardens effort has picked up a bit lately yet we still suck.

Going to need a GM that will believe coaching matters first

Appreciate the write up, Clutch. I can't say I feel any differently. If we cannot add significant pieces for a run this year, I say everyone is fair game to trade minus Harden.

That's dumb. Another ignorant statement that has become gospel here.

Zeitgeist. True as it is, straight up, and this is what we have to work out of this bust season.

Terrence Jones DNP- botfly in ear. Totally true.
Real talk on JB Ty and Harden.

"Harden came into training camp out of shape — no one disputes that at this point. But while the Rockets have had plenty of issues this season, all the major problems, directly or indirectly, can be traced back to this start"

    except Harden apparently

Glad to see the media confirming how horrible JBB has been, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

This season had fail written on it from game 1.

That was when I knew this season was lost

Coaches this year just couldn't figure out a way to make the pieces fit and motivate the team at the same time. I mean think about it multiple defensive specialists yet bottom of the league defensively. Ty Lawson productive - here not only not productive but a train wreck. I've never been part of the blame the coaches brigade before (in 17 years on CF) but this is so obvious and sad.

Good coaches cause the sum of your parts to be *greater than the whole and poor coaching subtracts from the whole. I think we are underperforming by any legitimate measure.
