I am the Rockets fan from late Hakeem years. This decade was a dissappointment at all. There was only one bright spot and it was the streak

I remember about Francis career high on Lakers in first Yao vs Shaq game, 13 in 35, Dunk over Bradley and game winner vs Mavs, takin Lakers to seven games without Yao and Mac but the streak was a moment of first full decade as a Rocket fan. I will certainly remember that, without a doubt

HEY GUYZ Y DID THEY BOO LEBRON HE MADE THAT TEAM WINNARZ?!

Stupid thread. He had bad character, and more than once he showed that he wasn't going to stand by his team. Nobody cares that he led us to the first round of the playoffs a few times, we could have done better without him as we showed in 09.

You said previously that "he" was responsible for the 22 game streak. Now you're saying that it was "not about McGrady" and that it's about the team "that didn't quit at all."

    That's nonsensical.

Talking about TMac just makes me angry, TOFs need to move on, Tracy is on another team playing loosing basketball as always, there is no need to bring him up any nymore, especially not after he got the reception he deserved.

Because he quit on the Rockets.

    He is a quitter.

You must understand this is his third team he quit on. He was booed when he went back to Toronto for the first time and he was booed when he went back to Orlando for the first time because he is a quitter.

The fact that he has been booed two other places is a statement about T-Mac and not about Rocket fans.

    it miscommunication.

I supported McGrady when he played in Orlando and I will support him in Detroit or in the other team

It's not about my personal attitude to his game.

My favorite McGrady moment was when he said the words "it's on me" entering a postseason then took complete responsibility for it:

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/oleKfixy-7A?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/oleKfixy-7A?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

But seriously tho, this attitude is the reason Houston booed McGrady.
-Then there was the Toronto game the following year.
-He shut down the season without notifying the Rockets brass.
-Never attended a single game to support the team while rehabbing (not even postseason? wtf?).
-During that postseason he gave a radio interview in which he picked the Lakers over Rockets (if somebody is paying you $23M to sit on your ass, STFU).

He was a prick. He deserved to be booed. Toronto fans deserved to boo him, Orlando fans deserved to boo him and so did Houston fans. It isn't the thousands of people who are in the stands at fault, it is his.

Then you. the TOF fan, need to either join the Pistons message board or put this in the general NBA area of this board.

I don't think he deserves boos or a hero's welcome.

McGrady was underappreciated for the most part through much of his time here, but its hard to deny that he didn't handle his business the right way in the last couple seasons.

It must be tough though to be booed in 3 different cities where he played multiple years. Has there ever been another NBA player who was despised in 3 places like that?

So. If was a Rockets fan when he played in Toronto and when he was just a young promissing player and I didn't care about him a lot I am a TOF, cause my favourite player in that time was traded to my favourite team after couple of years in Magic uniform? wow. That's cool.

    My response is two-fold...

You cant put the entire blame on McGrady. The Rockets organization is at fault too. Do you really think ANY player would risk a career ending knee surgery to NOT GET traded?? My money's on "no". (See Bob Sura, Penny Hardaway, Terrell Brandon, Jamal Mashburn, and Allan Houston.)

McGrady at the start of the season on Media Day 2008 said he wasnt a 100% and he's still recovering. Why did the Rockets training staff and coaches not hold him back then? We had enough fire power to hold McGrady out as long as it took to get him right.

He never got right cuz he never had an opportunity to. Team docs kept saying he's good and can play, but he knew his knee wasn't right. Why would he really wanna tank the season when that year was his BEST shot at getting out of the 1st round or even win it all??

Two weeks that he took off to go hardcore "training" is not enough to strengthen a surgically repaired knee. It takes weeks of PT and Rehab to gain strength in a surgically repaired knee (reference - personal experience with knee surgery).

The reason we "coincidentally" got out of the first round that year was cuz the matchup against the Blazers was in OUR FAVOR. We matched up with them much better than we did with the Jazz the previous 2 years.

    On the other hand....

The way McGrady went about his final season here was wrong and that's where all the McGrady hate comes in. Adelman said there should have been a proper protocol to follow, but McGrady took it in his own hands.

The fact that he did end up throwing his teammates under the bus with the "its my fault that a fan ordered a budweiser and got a heinekin" wasnt cool either.

I've got mixed feelings, but i definitely wouldnt have BOOed.

I think Shaq had a pretty bad reception, from more than 3 teams.

I don't think you needed to make another thread.

Clutch's Tmac interview thread includes the subject of the Toyota Center booing.

    http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=197125

When you put "BIG MISTAKE" as the title, it sounds like we traded Luis Scola for Yi or something.

    it's pretty vague.

I stopped reading after he said "it was unfair".

    1) this is the NBA/pro ball/a man's league
    2) he's made millions to play a game for career
    3) he never helped bring us a championship
    4) he always has an excuse for everything

and this is the short list.

    The pussification of America continues.
