Why does anybody really care if fans boo tmac? I personally don't boo anyone (accept maybe refs at times), but it's what fans do. The idea that you're not a real fan, or that they suck because they show a reaction to a player with a negative history with your team is just nonsense. You can argue about your favorite players character, but you can't argue that there are no reasonable reasons to question his character.

I would say that I don't care about tmac at all, but I did watch the game with an interest to see how things would go down. I may cheer for him again one day, but not until he's shown signs of good character, and he's not playing the rockets. Other then that, it's over and done with.

Hey look a T-Mac thread with Tinman/cronies (and OMFG the return of badgerfan) trying to bring justice to the "fake" rockets' fans. How shocking...

    Typical response is typical.

What's to discuss? It's all old news. Something you seem very fond of.

sucks that video and news of an ex-player is more popular/important than video of the team's actual play, especially after a good win like this one..

Add Chuck Hayes, Rick Adelman and Yao Ming to the list of fake Rocket fans and TOF. The proof is in the chron.com article!!

It's ironic that you are calling others ignorant after the post you just made. Playing only when he felt like playing was an insult to the fans, the coaches, and the other Rockets. He was a quitter of epic proportions. (see "the Toronto game" b4 u even try to argue that) You're the one who needs to GTFO. And it's not just the majority Rockets' fans that dislike McLady, Orlando fans can't stand him either. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out why.

TOF's are hilarious... They listen and believe everything T-Mac says, attempt to revise history when things go wrong, and come up with excuses for this guy. They talk about all the great memories and seasons that he gave us. What great memories? You mean his occasional highlight reels? I can only remember a few things he did that were noteworthy; a dunk against this tall scrub called Shawn Bradley, 13 points in 35 seconds against the Spurs (where was this intensity during all the other games?), and his contributions in our 22 games winning streak which was NOT only him. Everyone on the Rockets team were overachieving and playing out of their minds during that streak.

Let me ask you this though, aside from those contributions that are meaningless in the grand scheme of things, what is T-Mac's true legacy with the Rockets? In his playing tenure with the Rockets, they failed to get out of the first round EVERY SINGLE TIME. While I agree that it is not entirely his fault and that this is a team game, I have also seen players that T-Mac is supposedly better than, lead their teams farther than T-Mac ever has. The fact that T-Mac has never gotten out of the first round on ANY team (not just the Rockets, but the Raptors, Magic, and Knicks) further damns his case.

T-Mac was strongly disliked by real Rockets fans not because he was injured or because we did not win a ring, but because he quits and gave up on the team. Unless he had won us a ring, that is an unforgivable sin to a real fan. This is what separates him from lets say Yao who fans still greatly respect regardless of whether or not they want him on the team. I understand that this is a business and T-Mac is looking out for himself first, but that means nothing to me as a fan. As fans, we don't care about the business side of things; we only care about the team winning and players playing their hearts out.

The saddest thing about all of this is that T-Mac could have easily prevented most of the animosity Rockets fans have for him by doing one very simple thing, keeping his bloody trap shut.

are you sure? T-mac said this (below) so he wasn't shocked because he's been through it before and that it wasn't worse than his return to Toronto.

but are the Rockets/Magic/Raptors fans all 'classless' and deserve the furor of the TOFs equally?

Why are they so angry? Tmac said it best " It is what it is".

The only player I've seen lead a team of complete scrubs to playoff success is Lebron (and other than 1 year, he really only beat the worst playoff team in the nba by some margin then lost to competition), and the rest of our team was pretty scrubby, even if you replaced Yao and Tracy with Michael and Hakeem, you'd never see a ring with that supporting cast, they'd go further sure, but then i doubt anyone has any delusions of the former two being the equivalent of the latter two.

This has nothing to do with Clutch, but nice try trying to drag him into it.

I'm sorry you feel the need to deflect things onto others. I don't ;)

You should preach that to McGrady. It would have saved him a lot of Boos.

It is always Haloween when you are Tracy McGrady.

T-Mac can say the sky is green and all these idiots would believe him. The only reason they are angry is because someone has the audacity to boo their idol.

Philadelphia 76'ers 2001 - Allen Iverson took the team to the playoffs. The next best scorer on that team for the entire team was Aaron McKie at 878 points compared to AI's 2,2047 points. Sure they had Mutombo, but T-Mac had Yao. Are you seriously trying to tell me that from a talent perspective that AI is better than T-Mac? The difference is that AI had the willpower and determination to carry his team at the young age of 25 ALL THE WAY TO THE FINALS.

I'm glad you mentioned Iverson. He was a superstar at the same time Tracy was a superstar. Here's his return to Philly as a member of a different team.

    <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zNcY-xn65rU?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zNcY-xn65rU?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Iverson goes to the Sixers bench and huggs Mo Cheeks. :(
