Jefferson doesn't have slow feet. He's not as quick as say hill, but he's as quick as duncan. The pick and roll threat is a very valid one, but the reason the rockets get exploited in that alot is because no one can protect the basket when yao is pulled away from the goal. Jefferson can do that and grab the rebound also. On offense, he's not magically stuck to the post and is also a very good weakside rebounder. My only issues with jefferson is health and that the one i have with yao and martin, but if for some reason you have to move on from yao, you still have a 25 yr ol post player. Also,he wont cost as much.

Despite completely mishandling the Kevin Martin situation, the King's still managed to get a young, productive player in Carl Landry for him. He's the tough low post scorer they needed. I can't say we're a better team than we were before the trade, we just unloaded some dead weight (Tmac) while getting the Knicks' picks. Had New York not gotten involved would we be so happy?

The parallels between Jefferson's and Martin's situation are indeed striking. But everyone knows that Jefferson's on the market now. The Twolves have time to weigh their options. If the Rockets are after Jefferson I hope they get him for a better price than they paid for Martin.

The only concern I have about Jefferson is that I dont see him being much of and upgrade over Scola.

Naw, didn't you hear, they only employ people that bash on the hometeam's fans and their General Manager.

Clutch doesn't have experience in that.

Jefferson's help defense seems to be average to me and I don't have a problem with his mobility until his knee injury. I'm all for trading for him if the price is not high.

Majority of teams are going to want Chase in a deal. I would hate for him to go because I think he's important for our bench. Him and Lowry play great together and can lift the team when we're in a scoring drought.

As for NY, they'll get some talent during the offseason but I don't think they'll be a playoff team. There's only one team in the East that might be out of the playoffs next year is the Bobcats. Boston will go down but not that much where NY can get in. NJ will probably target David Lee during the Summer and I don't see LBJ, Wade, Bosh, or Joe Johnson going to NY.

My heart tells me we'll see a different Kevin Martin starting next season. He'll be able to get healthy during the offseason and get into shape. He'll be great next year. As for his defensive, we'll have to wait and see.

Jefferson isn't slow as you put it. Before he had the knee injury, he was such a beast. Pick-n-Roll is a concern but we'll have better shot blockers to defend the other team.

I don't see us getting Bosh unless we give a lot to Toronto. I like Bosh. He's a special player but I couldn't give up the farm for this guy. If you give too much for either player, we're back at square one by trying to put together pieces to fill gaps.

He's an upgrade for sure. Scola doesn't demand a double team. Scola struggles against bigger players on offense. Jefferson can pretty much score on majority of bigs.

Cheezey, if the rockets can add some legit shotblockers to the current roster, everybodies defense including Martin's will get dramatically better. I agree with you about Martin in that we will see a much better player next season. Im all for going after a player like Al Jefferson, but I wonder what it would take to get him.

The Rockets didn't pay a high price on Martin. Why do you think a lot of sportswriters were saying Houston robbed NY? They basically gave Landry away. I have to admit, it was tough seeing him play for someone else but we didn't give up that much. Jefferson's value is low right now but I see him like Zach Randolph. People were worried about his knee but he has recovered pretty damn good from his knee injury. I think Jefferson would be a better defender than Randolph though.

Would you trade Scola for Jefferson?

I dont think Jefferson is a Morey type of player.

Does he? I dont pay too much attention to the T-wolves. I see that Jefferson plays forward center so he could start at PF then slide to center if we are going to give Yao a break then bring in Scola for 30-35 min a game. I dont know who we would give up for Jefferson though...

I wouldn't want to but yeah. Minny wouldn't take it since they really need a Center.

Good stuff as always Clutch. Can't wait for things to get moving, the offseason and upcoming season are looking bright.

Maybe that so called writer will read this, and understand there is a plan in which significant movement has taken place.

Yeah. You remember when he played us this year? He had big nights against us over his career. He's a solid solid player. Is the better than Bosh? No but he fits a need.

With Morey, no one knows... I said the same thing about Amare... We'll see though. No one has any idea what Morey is thinking or trying to do.

Great, great article Clutch. Put Jerome Solomon in his place I would say.

As far as Al Jefferson, before the knee injury he was an offensive monster, and quite mobile. This was his first year back. If the doctors say it looks good I would totally trade for him. And yes, I would even trade Scola for him, if his health is good.

Say NO to Al Jefferson, please. He's too ugly to be a Rocket. Rockets are built around handsome players like Kevin Martin and Shane Battier. I would prefer the guy Clutch mentioned after Jefferson, though, Kevin Garnett. He's very handsome even for his age.
