If Ron is being shipped out,I would assume it might be for Mike Miller. Mike Miller has done poorly this year. has had injuries,is slow and can't defend.
However,he is not someone who will be a locker room or a on the court problem maker.
Honestly,I would be unhappy with a Ron for Mike Miller trade and if anyone else were added just to get him,it would make me mad.

Neither Amare nor Yao will come off the bench. Why not put scola at the 3?
He can knock down the mid range shot pretty well.

    Yao/Amare/Mutumbo
    Amare/Chuck Hayes/Scola
    Scola/Battier/Brent
    Mcgrady/Von Wafer
    Alston/Brent

He can't be traded back to the Bobcats this season, the team that tendered him the offer the Rockets matched over the summer.

I don't know if I do want Amare, we give up too much depth and no way Rafer should be manning the point that long.

Give me Miller or VC and I'll be happy. Amare is unpredictable.

I would do Scolandry , artest, and head for amare, barnes. I would keep brooks out of all of them.

    Say No to Stoudemire

    Say No to Stoudemire

I think people on this board are becoming so infatuated with this guy simply because they look at his stat line. Sure, he may be explosive on the offensive end but does that really outweigh his defensive struggles?

Let's look back at our last major trade, the Ron Artest deal.

What seemed like a trade that would put us over the top instead turned out to be a seemingly lateral move. Do you know why? We didn't upgrade a weak position. We got another SF, a position already filled by the passable Shane Battier.

Are we doing the same thing with Amare? Yes.

People are drawn to the big name, much like they were with Ron. They desperately wanted a shake-up, and they got one.

But Amare is just another upgrade to a position that is already strong for us. We don't need another PF, we need a better point guard, but that's an entirely different story.

So please, don't get drawn in to the glamor and acrobatics, this guy, while a great player, isn't what we need.

    Any thoughts?

T-mac wanted out of Toronto because he wanted more playing time. I think he was coming off the bench in his last year in Toronto.

Vince was then mad that Tracy left, and also I think Tracy's mom had made some comments about T-mac. Also almost got in a fight during a game when Orlando and Toronto played.

Then T-mac and Vince eventually made up and it's obvious when Houston and New Jersey play that they have made up.

Rockets trade for Amare only they're paying luxury tax.

Rockets trade for Amare and Vince they're staying under luxury tax.

Hmmm, I like the lineup, but not sure Scola has the length, range, athleticism, and ability to create his own shot that an NBA SF needs. Plus, the majority of his points come from kick-outs and put-backs due to him outpositoning/outhustling the other team's PFs.

I guess he wants it but I don't think i've ever seen Amare win a game. He can take over games but he doesn't appear to be willing to play the two-way-basketball required of big stars down the stretch.

Guys, please do not value Aaron Brooks as high as you all are.

He is a sub .400 shooter, and his 3 point shot, although will improve in time, is currently worse than Rafers. He is not going to do much in the playoffs due to his defensive inaptness, and how is he going to matchup against Deron Williams or Chauncey Billups for 7 games? And he is as erratic as they come. I love him, as I'm like him in real life, but how many 6ft PGs are there in the league??? He'll never be starter quality. Maybe a backup for the rest of his career.

I'D HATE TO SEE AARON BROOKS BREAK THE DEAL FOR AMARE.

I'D LOVE FOR US TO TRADE AARON FOR AMARE AND CALL UP BLAKE AHEARN FROM THE DLEAGUE.

Either way I wouldn't be mad. If he's on this team the potential is great. If not then we still got a team that has potential to do something good or great.

I don't see Minny being interesting in sticking Ron Artest on their young team. If Artest and Miller are in a trade, there must be a third team.

In a way I'd prefer the deal with Carter (assuming we make one) would send him to Charlotte (don't his kids live there with their mom?), and bring us those former Suns (Diaw and Raja Bell), but such a scenario belongs in the Random Trade stuff.

So, getting Carter would cost us....what? Ron is the centerpiece (about $8,000,000), and that gets us a little more than halfway there....only.

To make it worth the Nets' while, you'd have to give them a 2010-friendly contract (Rafer), and Luther Head. BUT, that's diluting the impact of such a trade. You'd have to get Dooling as well for our sake so Aaron wouldn't be flying on his own. So then you'd have to throw in a Chuck Wagon.....

(sigh) Whatever. In Morey we Trust.

Will not solve our problems at all like the OP said. Should have been in the other threads though.
