The player that I want here the most is Wade, but for this trade deadline, I have to go with Chris Bosh. Yao and Bosh would be pretty sick, especially considering Bosh's range, he would clog up the lane much less than Amare IMO.

If we get Amare, TMAC will be magically cured! :D

Don't give up Brooks! Give them Dorsey or rights to a player in Ukraine or Greece.

Am I, or am I just tired of bad deals? It is about time something worked in the Rocket's favor.

I drool at the thought of Amare to Houston... *drools

    RON ARTEST
    LUTHER HEAD
    CARL LANDRY
    AARON BROOKS

    AMARE STOUDAMIRE
    ALANDO TUCKER/GORAN DRAGIC

I REALLY could see this deal happening.

Given the hugeness of this site, Clutch wouldn't reveal things unless he knew what he was doing.

I think the only reason Clutch is revealing all this is because none of this is actually going to happen, and that we have a whole other trade we're working on.

Artest, Head, Landry for Chris Bosh. Am I right??

If I'm not mistaken, Carter and T-Mac do have a rather checkered past. It's part of reason T-Mac wanted off the Raptors so badly. I know I've read it ad nauseum on this board. Perhaps someone else can speak on it better than I, anyone?

im not sure amare would give us anything we really need.

i dont think carter is a good deal. he doesn't play defense and he's not the most competitive guy.

i understand that the rockets want to move ron so they can get something in return rather than letting him walk this summer, but mike miller would suck too. 7ppg? can't even start on the twolves?

there has to be something else out there!

yah but amare has a better mid range J than bosh does. Bosh has a 3 ball but he only hits it every 5 attempts.

I would hate to see a Artest for Miller straight up swap unless there are other things involved. I doubt we want to sacrifice defense for someone who has little playoff experience like Miller. Plus I think Morey favors winners, which Miller isn't one.

Yah Vince and Tracy started off great playing together but Vince had more minutes and the spotlight, tracy stood under his shadow fora year or two and thought he had to move on....Vince did not understand the decision and stop talking McGrady, they later resolved the short feud...T-mac in his last year in Orlando later said that he's like to have the chance to play with his cousin at a certain time in his career again.

    SAY YES TO AMARE!

No one knew how Bynum was going to fit next to Gasol yet they extended him a huge contract.

No one knew how Gasol was going to fit in with Bynum and Odom yet they traded for him.

WE NEED A MAJOR TRADE! Just look at what happened to the Lakers and Nuggets after the Gasol and Billups trade!

I just found an interesting point.

In the rumoured trade proposal of:

Amare for Artest + Landry + Brooks + Head

The Rockets take on $1.662612M more in salary. That would put the Rockets $1.182377M over luxury tax.

The Nets are $2.814494 under luxury tax.

    If the Rockets traded:

McGrady +Hayes for Carter + Stromile

The Rockets would get back under luxury tax by $31,935.

There's a roster minimum of 13 players but a team is given a 2 week deadline to meet that. The Suns actually have been exploiting this this season to minimise tax.

So it's possible to say include Joey Dorsey in any of the above deals to create the extra salary space (total $848,435) where the Rockets can then wait 2 weeks, sign 4 players to 10 day contracts, wait another 2 weeks, repeat... to finally signing whoever on pro-rated contracts. If they do this they stay under luxury tax this season.

It's funny because T-Mac left Toronto because one team wasn't big enough for VC and T-Mac. McGrady entered free agency as a player to franchise.

I don't share the same thoughts and feelings about Vince Carter rejuvinating McGrady's passion for the game.

In fact, I think bringing in Carter will make McGrady feel showed up. I always wanted to trade McGrady for Carter. That relationship is just too fragile.

Amare would be great I think. But not if it creates a huge hole in the point guard position.

Mike Miller would probably be the best 'fit' out of the 3 rumored trades. But I'm not sure what would be given up to get him. Plus, the decrease in 3pt percentage concerns me.

Either way, I'm enjoying the rumors. Hopefully, the Rockets replicate what the Pistons did when they acquired Rasheed Wallace. One great deal can get you very far in this league

True, but isn't Bosh left-handed? If so, I think that makes him a slightly harder guard, plus he doesn't have quite the injury/surgery history as Amare.
