    I'm all for Amare.

I'm also all for keeping Artest.

I'm not down with giving up Aaron Brooks, though. Luther can go wherever, and I'll have to get used to not seeing Landry.

    Tough times, tough measures.

If were giving away brooks i would have to believe this could be a 3 team deal that would bring another gaurd in here.

Bad Bad Bad idea i know, but Trade Machine likes the idea of adding Battier to the deal and getting Barbosa. pretty much leaves us with no 3's unless we plan on Tracy playing the 3 with alston and barbosa in the back-court

This is why I hated it when people called Artest "True Warrior." He may play hard every time he's on the court, but his skills just don't justify the way he plays, you would think he's Kobe or Wade out there with the shots that he takes.

That was more of a "wouldn't surprise me". I really have no idea what is going on with Tracy. I think it's obvious he has a real injury, but I think his embarrassment level from the missed dunk and poor game led to that strange MRI stuff and bizarre press conference. I know there was some friction between Artest and T-Mac. I know the Rockets have been very frustrated with the situation. I can honestly say though I have no idea what is really going on there.

I "think" Stoudemire will ultimately stay. I don't know if Sarver is still going to go economics on the Suns, but if Porter goes, I think that is because Stoudemire is staying. Carter is who I think the Rockets are focusing on now the most.

i guess that Morey couldnt get anything from t-mac while artest still has a big trade value.

But at least we should get another PG if we really gonna trade AB.

Damn it. i really dont wanna see those guys to go. Well, maybe not luther.

So Clutch, would you still give up the same parts (Artest/Head/Brooks/Landry) for STAT as for Carter?

thanks for the updates clutch. it's weird nobody knows what's going on with tracy. it's legit that he's embarrassed from his bad play the previous game (like he has been frustrated with his play all year). if his knee is the same as before, just deal with it mentally and play on.

and you're right. i'd be shocked if they trade amare at all b/c he's young and has superstar potential. why do you pick 2 old guys (shaq, nash) and a dumb coach (porter) over him?

it looks like we're very active on trades. but we'll see how it all pans out. we may end up with nothing or a very minor trade. rocket fans should pin all their hopes on this trade deadline and come out disappointed.

I'm not that keen to see Artest go over McGrady.

Mike Miller is a carrer playoffs loser. I don't want him in a Rockets jersey.

Amare. I don't why people are so down on him? For Landry? We're talking about a player who's on the same level as Yao Ming now and before his microfracture had reached a higher pinnacle as a NBA player. Landry is an undersized version with only potential to reach Amare's heights and he's only a year younger.

the team is NOT going to resign artest. why you want to keep him and end up getting nothing for him?

Amare would be so awesome here. I hope we can get this done!!

He'd be the perfect fit next to Yao. Plus, we can still keep 2010 in our sights!

I don't think Amare will work with Yao but sometimes acquiring players isn't just about how they will fit on the team but as assets to use in a trade at a later date to fix a hole in the roster (starting point guard).

It seems a lot to give up for him though. And if they don't have a secondary trade in the works to fix the hole Brooks would leave I think we're in trouble because slow footed McGrady or Barry don't push the tempo like Brooks does.

What I get from the updates is that Artest is gone and that Morey has earned the right not to question him. Clutch please do let us know about Artest at a later date. Thanks for the update.

Hey Clutch, do you believe if they get Vince Carter, it is because they want Tracy to get his stuff back together and Carter may be the one to help him out and get his knee closer to 100 percent? Carter had to deal with this injury before and they are cousins after all.

Trade T-Mac for an expiring contract, let Artest go in the off-season and the Rockets can do many things in free agency this year.

I feel Artest gives them a shot at the silverware even without McGrady.

Once again... this is the place for the best info. Look forward to the story behind the story later Clutch!

I thought the exact same thing when I read that. Amare's got a lot more ahead of him than Barkley did, but giving up Landry and Brooks reminds me an awful lot of Horry and Cassell.

That deal may not happen anyway... sounds like it might be dead.

Clutch never put a price on Miller or Carter, though. But, if NJ is gauging interest in Brooks, maybe there's a third team involved... could we get another point back in return?

the STAT trade makes a lot of sense for us. We would have a big three (if T-mac somehow gets it back together) that would be even better than Boston's big three. And it would allow us to get three guys off the books in 2010 (Yao, if he opts out, Stadoumire, and T-mac). Then we could go for a guy like Bosh. So, not only will this help us in the short term, but it will also be good for our future even if we lose Landry and Brooks. with that said, I really dont want to lose brooks....

I personally like Tracy at the three if he's going to play, and adding Barbosa would do wonders for the overall team quickness.

I wonder how much San Antonio's interest in Vince Carter in playing into our pursuit of him. Certainly it adds extra incentive, but I hope we don't give up too much just to deny San Antonio.

I can't believe how a GM like Morey can be interested in a player like Amare, he plays absolutely no defense and is crying everyday.

The interest in Miller is pretty logical, in fact I purposed the trade in December. He fits perfectly here, and the Wolves could get it done.
