What's up with this hard on that people have for Hinrich? I, for one, think he is pretty overrated around these parts.

Sigh, Hinrich would fit perfectly on a Yao centric team, a quality shooter at PG, with deep range, and great defense.

Try not to look at what he is doing now, but rather what he would do with all those open looks Yao and Tmac create.

Hinrich would be a HUGE lift to this team.

Well we might as well go after Damon Jones, or we should go after someone cheaper if all you want is a shooter.

I also would like a floor general, and Hinrich is that....

Hinrich on this team would be like Mike Bibby on Sacremento.....just a guy that fits in like a glove.

Won't happen though.....none of the guys I listed will probably be traded for....too bad, we will keep Mr. Crazy chemistry killer and go from there.

That depends on what you mean by "starters." Skip shouldn't be starting as far as I'm concerned, and I think the majority of this BBS would also agree. Also, didn't Artest come off the bench for us for Shane Battier?

T-Mac's contract is worth much more than Baron Davis + fillers IMO. I believe T-Mac is about as untouchable as Yao is right now, but solely because of the value of his expiring contract.

Well you have a point, but I do not think that Hinrich is the leader that Bibby is/was. I wish we could actually get Bibby. That is the best fit possible, so what can we do?

Bibby is an unrestricted Free Agent at the end of this year, it may be that the Rockets are leaving that position open for him to come in for next year.

    1) he plays defense (underrated there)
    2) he plays point guard (which the rockets sorely need)
    3) he can hit an open shot (regardless of what you think of his current play on a disorganized bulls team)
    4) he's durable
    5) he's a pretty high character guy thats always been a good team player
    6) he's a high effort, high energy guy

    but

he has a questionable contract, and he hasn't been shooting that great lately, so a lot of people automatically overlook him or think he's overrated.

i think he'd be a great fit for the rockets. especially if they intend on playing defense at all in the second half of the season.

Jones doesn't have half the bball IQ, decision-making skills or passing ability of Hinrich.

He has made himself tradeproof. Trade for a possible microfracture candidate? Trade to a team of his preference and the knee is healed, the knee is healed?

Thursday is too soon upon us for a deal of $20++ mm to get accomplished when the principal is gimped up.

Funny thing about that is that only thing he has on Alston is that he hits the shot. The funny thing is that people didnt want Butler or VC because of their contracts, but want Hinrich..

I don't care about contracts, I am not paying anyone's salary, I care about the Rockets winning, and fit with the rest of the team, Hinrich fits.

And his contract is not that bad, and it DECREASES every year going forward.

That is how I feel, but I think some people are over rating him. But I meant the longevity of the contracts, not the amount.

    1) He's been meshing well with Rose.
    2) Pax is less able to pull a trade trigger than Tracy is able to feel knee-ded.
    3) Bigs who can score appear to be more on Bulls' radar than moving KH.
    4) What's te trade-match for KH?

BTW - Hinrich has long been top o'my list of get'ms, but - alas.

Really it's indisputable that Hinrich would do a better job than Rafer. On a team with Yao, your point guard's most important job, so long as he is not a turnover machine, is to shoot the open shot to keep defenses honest.

    Career totals:
    FG%: Hinrich .414, Rafer .371
    3PT%: Hinrich .376, Rafer .342
    Age: Hinrich 29, Rafer 32
