Interesting, very interesting. Brad Miller would compliment Yao well; can hit the 3, high post player, and gives the Rockets another 7 footer.

we're talking about a big man who's 7'6 with a history of foot problems. if he's 7', i agree with you. but yao's a different beast.

He'll make around $20 million a year in 2010. And he could terminate his contract and join the free agent class of 2010.

You're missing the point. Some team, somewhere, is going to be desperate enough to offer Yao the max. The Rockets are going to have to match it.

I can't wait to see how Yao responds to actually having an off-season. He is done playing ball for China, right?

Read the NYTimes Sunday magazine last week -- good article that documents that Battier is one of the top defensive players in the league and a very significant plus on offense...and the least selfish player in the league. If the playoffs roll around and we play LA who do you want to guard Kobe...Wafer? Who do you want to guard Ginobili? Yeah, if the playoffs role around chances are he will be our MVP, even if 75% of the fans don't understand basketball well enough to appreciate it.

Comeback? Are we back in middle school... Or maybe I shouldn't say "back". All I said was Battier haters like you undervalue what Shane does for the team.

I can see Sacramento taking Tmac for Salmons, Beno, and Miller. They are in full tank mode now so if Tmac shuts it down for the rest of the season, its only better for them. Next year, Tmac will either get healthy, be a good expiring for trades or to open things up for 2010 free agency.

Udrih is another medical bill but I wouldn't object if they're willing to trade him instead of KT in this package...

Battier is a luxury the Rockets can't afford to have. They need athleticism. They're a team full of slow, unathletic guys. That's why the Grizzlies and Bucks run this team out of the gym. I'd move Battier for a guy like Barbosa in a heartbeat.

I think the only way they do it is if you take on Udrih's contract.

Isn't Udrih more valuable than KT even though he's on a longer contract? Then again if the Kings are relocating next season they might be looking to dump all their vet contracts that extend beyond 2010.

That's an interesting trade, but the Rockets lose a lot of size if they get Babrosa.

Shane Battier does need to be move and seems to be the only optional one, since T-Mac has zero value.

I wouldn't mind trading Battier for a guy like John Salmons.

Why in the hell are we not going after Jefferson if Milwaukee is dumping contracts?

I don't see that working. Salmons is even more of a ballstopper than Artest is except he's shooting at an exceptional FG%.

Actually I was very surprised to see Miller, Salmons, and Udrih all shooting over .400% which is something this team is sorely lacking.

There were 8 players chosen over Amare. He certainly harbors no bad feelings towards Yao for that.

Amare is the absolute perfect fit next to Yao IMO. He brings the athleticism that the Rockets sorely lack. He would be the only player on the team that brings both size and athleticism in one package.

We have all seen how the Rockets offense sometimes goes in the tank when Yao is forced out of the game. Neither Landry or Scola can consistantly take over as a primary inside scoring threat when Yao goes out of the line up with fouls but Amare is not just an efficient scorer he is a dominant inside and outside scoring machine that could carry the offensive load when Yao goes out.

The Official Rockets twitter just posted "Busy day at the TC office. Hitting the "2nd half" running. Lots of Insider emails being prepared/sent today."

    I hate a tease! ;)

Edit: Eh ignore that.. he meant insider as in Rockets Insider not insider people. :)
