The problem I have with Udrih and Kirk Hinrich is the length and amount of their contracts. I don't want to be stuck with either of those in two years.

We're still a few days away from the deadline...at this point the only four players I am convinced will still be here on Friday are Yao, Battier, Mutumbo and Scola. I won't be too surprised if anyone else on the roster is traded.

all 3 reporters (feign, solomon, blindbury)--including clutch--have stated (in their opinions anyways) that tracy's not going to be traded.

but hey they might be wrong. and we can move on from the tracy era.

With the current question marks over the seriousness of Tracy's knee, the possibility of a trade seems almost nil.

    Battier is expandable.

If we don't trade Artest, I'll bet that we'll trade Battier or Rafer.

Unless the Maloofs are interested in the 2010 sweepstakes.

They've stated that they don't think it's likely, given his play this year. Realistically T-Mac's been so bad this year it's tough to see another team wanting him. That said, there were rumors that the Rockets were actively shopping him.

Both Salmons and Udrih have contracts that extend beyond 2010.

he has an expiring contract in 2010. that's of a lot of value. and he has shown he can still play (with an ocassional really bad stinker). it's just when he's mentally strong enough to deal with that knee. i was just pointing out that stevie comparison was way off.

teams can get him and try to play him next yr (i'm sure tmac will be motivated next yr), trade him at the trade deadline or let him go if they want to get that guy in 2010.

the rockets have only said yao is untouchable.

then that means we won't be active in 2010 if we acquire those guys and the organization is fine with building around yao. i don't understand that move.

Anyone who actually understands basketball can see the value in a player like Battier. Whereas, some fans only know how to cheer for dunks, three's and blocks......

    Yea, that's what I'm saying.

Maloofs might be interested in the 2010 sweepstakes. We give them a player that is expiring that offseason, while we take in productive players.

And I'm not sold on Udrih. He reminds me of Rafer...

I don't know. I think Sacramento would rather play and develop their young guys than play a T-Mac on his last legs. He's probably not as bad as Francis yet, but it sure doesn't look good.

lol, i LOVE that comeback from those who support battier. tell me if he'll help us when the playoffs rolls around if he plays like this.

Everyone keeps talking about a "superstar" that we would get back in this trade.

Who on the King's roster is a "superstar" other than Kevin Martin?

Salmons isn't, Miller isn't and Udrih isn't there either.

Also, would the Kings take back Artest? Is that allowed?

I don't think McGrady is involved in this proposed deal. My guess would be Brooks, Landry, Ron ( somehow), and Rafer or Shane.

Whew. i'm done for awhile.

I don't see us trading Battier because of the off year he's been having. I think that there will be teams who will try to low-ball Morey for him, but there won't be enough incentive to give him up.

like calvin murphy said, tracy just don't want to play until he's 100%. if he's traded, he might just take this entire season off and rest himself so he can be 100% next yr.

this year's tracy is not that good. like i said, unless those microfracture surgery rumors are true, i think tracy still has game left if his knee gets stronger.

but if he's traded, i'm glad the drama is over and the team can focus on basketball. i do wish he remains with the team, when he's mentally ready though.

If you stick with Yao are you in win now mode or wait until 2010 mode? I think you're in win now mode and you shoot for 2009/2010.

I'm not sure why people think that Houston would be a magnet for superstar free agents anyway.
