That would be like suns' getting O'Neal by giving up Marion. It would be a huge gamble. If it fails, the team will just blow up as the Suns.
Amare should be happy to play in Houston. He would get many uncontested mid-range jumpers.

i just dont want to be disappointed... dont do nothing silly Morey! The more and more i watch Artest on this team he just doesnt fit..still a great player but not for us so i came to grips of him being gone but landry was harder to swallow cause hes the only one who can finish but still that would be ok if we got amare to replace him, so i can swallow that one a little easier but now BROOKS? i dont know about that.. whos our back up? like landry brooks does something for this team that nobody does.. he gets to the rim real fast..breaks down D and is a great kick out passer.. not to mention is a good three point shooter.. AND more of alston? how about the amare deal And Battier for miller? Just saying.. sorry for the run ons and fragments

I strongly objected getting amare because I doubted his ability to play with yao as well.

but if Morey believes he could fit in with all his research, I'm going to trust him untill proven otherwise. Ironic that just when I'm starting to get warm to that idea, the trade talk died though...

i always though tmac was the chemistry issue. it seems when rafer and tmac are on the court there are alot of power struggles as to who's running the show. its not as noticable but i see it when tmac and artest are on the court at the same time as well. i hope morey makes the right decision.

There's also talks about the Rockets getting set for 2010. If the Rockets don't trade Artest, it wouldn't surprise me at all. The only issue I see the Rockets having is that Houston is not a place where free agents are just lining up to sign here. It's going to be a very interesting to see what happens come Thursday.

Frankly I don't see Amare being a good fit with the Rockets. We already have an efficient scoring big man, what we need is a hard-nosed 4 who rebounds, blocks shots, and defends like he gives a crap. Amare is none of that.

And I'd hate to Artest go, but I understand his contract makes him a much more desirable trade target than T-Mac. If Morey can somehow get rid of Mac and keep Artest, then I say we still have a chance of making some noise in the playoffs.

Houston usually is a pretty good draw for NBA players, I thought.

i agree depending on what happens in the next couple of days could basically tell us if the rockets are planning a significant move for 2010.

durvasa, on a more optimistic note...

the willingness to part away three promising young players in a season, couple with rox's recent success in finding little known young players, shows that the management are confident about our ability to identify and develop more young players in the future.

-- and honestly, I'm willing to trust their confidence in such given what they've found in the past couple of seasons...

Well the only good thing about here and Florida is that there's no state income tax.

I think so too. Maybe T-Mac wanted Artest out. But Clutch said Artest has been upto to something behind the scenes.. you never know what that could be.

and no matter what. calling out teammates in public is not the thing to do.. no matter what.. not defending T-Mac at all. he completely deserves the criticism. but Teammate calling out Teammate in public is a strict NO-NO IMO

Well, we never really had the cap space to lure free agents. With only using the MLE or LLE, I think Houston did a great job at attracting free agents. They may have not worked out but guys like Mo Taylor, Stromile, Bonzi and Francis had other options they could have chose over Houston. With cap space in 2010, I think they could be major players. Lots of NBA players that we never born in Houston, actually live in Houston in the off season.

thanks for all the updates clutch...we dont know whats going on in the front office i do hope Ron stays I really like the toughness and grit he brings to a team that has little to none.

If he does get moved which is what your feeling is I hope the player(s) coming in are in the same mold as him when it comes to on court mentality
