I'm hoping Amare gets trapped in his closet.

So why does Artest have to be traded?

    It's very simple really.

Artest has one year under his contract and if Rockets are going to resign him then they will have to pay more money.

Morey nor Leslie don't want that.

If Rockets trade for someone like Amare or Carter they will probably re-sign him for the same value escaping the chance that Artest leaves at the end of the season.

Because he's a cancer and this team will not win with him ultimately. Plus he's the Rox best trade bait this year.

A lot of people blame Ron for the change in chemistry. Whether this is due to a feeling of rivalry between he and T-Mac is debatable, but he would seem to be the major change. That said, the media has reported that Amare wants to be the big man on whatever team he goes to. That could also negatively impact team chemistry. Assuming he will be able to coalesce with the team, he is a high percentage shooter, and at this point I'll take a high percentage ANYTHING on the team. Hopefully it would be a higher percentage of games won

Maybe no one on the Rox has held T-Slack accountable until now and its causing waves.

I have a concern getting Amare - the concern is the chemistry between him and Yao. I remember quite well that he was reported to be very unhappy since Yao was chosen as the first draft pick over him. I am not sure if he still harbors that feeling against Yao.
Secondly, I do not want a trade that involves both Landry and Brooks together since they are the upcoming key players with Wafer.

    Why Amare???
The PF is more than just solid with Scola and Landry.
We dont need Amare, especially when we have to give up Artest, Landry and Brooks...thats too much!!!
I rather trade for Carter or Miller...

I agree with that...i would love Amare but giving up landry and brooks along with artest is too much...i think that would make Pho better off than us...i see the reason behind trading artest but i really hate to lose him, i think we can get past the 1st roudn with what we have minus tmac.

Carter won't come cheap either. His contract is over 14 M as opposed to Ron's 7.4 M. Rod Thorn is going to look for more, probably Landry and Brooks too.
I don't want to give up either Landry or Scola for VC.

Mike Miller is the the least expensive of the lot. Ron for him works straight up. Carl Herrera brought up a good point that the Wolves probably don't want Ron,so a 3rd team will have to be involved.
Honestly,Mike Miller doesn't seem enough for Ron Artest to me.

    Wrong.

Artest is not a cancer. He helps the team. The reason we trade him is probably he refuse to resign a cheap long term contract with rocket. Then the best thing rocket can do is trading him while his stock is still high.

T-Mac is the cancer. Since he has negative stock value right now. I do not think rocket will trade him, by the way, no team will be stupid enough to accept him right now. The best way to handle this is to play him until he get his shooting rythem back. (I do not think his energy level can ever get back. Too old.) And trade him at that time will bring you a good deal. Sell high is always a good option. :D

4 players for 1 guy..LOL Morey wouldn't be so "Money Ball" if he did that. Your basically giving up half your team for Amare. Not so smart. Then we will really be stuck with point guard problems

Anyways, either Amare playing with Yao or Carter playing with McGrady would be poetic irony -- sort of like Francis playing with McGrady, except it didn't work out.

Amare won the ROY over Yao and lots of Rockets fans whined. They quickly became one of the more debated rivalry about who was the better big man out of that draft.

Carter and McGrady was cousins but did not want to co-exist in the northern most city of NBA. Now years after that, they are brought back together in one of the southern most NBA cities.

    i really doubt the reason.

i believe the main reason is that ron is only one you can get a significant piece back by trading him. everyone knows and rox publically said yao is not touchable. please look at the roster who has a contract, big enough and short enough for other teams to bite. none except ron.

I will be very upset if they trade a very valuable expiring contract + two 1st round draft picks for Mike Miller.

What about just an expiring contract for him?
