    Alston, Barry
    McGrady, Wafer
    Battier
    Amare, Scola, Dorsey
    Yao, Hayes, Deke
    Rockets OVER LT by $1.2M
That's potentially an 8 man roster in the playoffs if McGrady's knee goes AWOL. Especially since Deke & Dorsey are permanent 14th & !5th men.

    Alston, Barry, Ager(filler)
    Carter(4yr), Wafer
    Battier, Najera(4yr)
    Amare, Scola, Dorsey
    Yao, Deke, Williams(cancer)
    Rockets UNDER LT by $416,575

Rockets barely have a bench and will be over LT if they only just trade for Amare.

Doesn't it make sense that they follow it up with a second trade? Especially if it kills two birds with one stone, ie gets Rockets under LT and fills the bench?

I really hope that trade doesn't happen. Amare has shown that he can't play well with another low post scorer.

completely against the Amare trade.. if at the end of the day that's the only potential deal left on the table.. i rather it just fizzle out and have nothing come of it.. we haven't had this good of a bench in years.. and now we're trying to get rid of 3/4ths of it.. for a player that may or may not fit..?

that's just hard to believe.. Morey's deals have proven to involve a lot more intelligence than that..

Yes im ok in the head, and I know this is not nba 2k9. It was a suggestion if they the trade goes down for the meen time until we sign a backup Foward or a pg. Unfortunately for you, you can't act like a normal person and give a rational counter opinion.

My greatest fear is seeing us pull a Phoenix or Dallas just to throw all our eggs into the basket of the next two years. There's a good chance it could all backfire spectacularly (that whole relying on T-Mac and Yao as the cornerstones of our franchise has worked out great the past four years hasn't it?), and the Morey era could end without him ever getting a chance to build a team from the ground up.

80+% of our payroll (Yao, T-Mac, Juwan's contract which he's parlayed into Artest's, Swift's contract which he turned into Battier's) he was strapped to the day he walked in here.

We've seen what he's done drafting in the 25-35 range of picks. What could he do with a pick in the top 10? We might find out earlier than people wish. Or worse yet we might never find out at all.

I don't think we need Amare. Atleast not for that price.

He is a good talent and a great athlete, BUT, for him to be effective offensively, he needs a point guard that can penetrate and pass effectively. Rafer is not that.

He plays zero defense with the exception of the occasional block and he gets into foul trouble a lot.

I also feel that if things don't work out here, he's just going to bolt in 2010, with us giving away 2 proven and very good role players for a season and a half of Amare in Houston.

We clearly see what happens when a player doesn't a fit a team (Pippen, Artest, etc..) why make the same mistake again at a much higher cost??

IF Tmac can somehow get healthy, then I say we go after Miller. He would be a perfect fit in our offense. Even if Tmac is not healthy, then thats another shooter around Yao. I think Artest and Head for Miller is a workable trade, if I'm not mistaken.

If Tmac needs microfracture surgery, then go after Carter. There is no way we can get to the 2nd round with this team with out a great offensive wing player who can create for himself and for others.

I know his contract runs through 2011, but I just don't see the Rockets landing LBJ, Dwade, Dirk, Bosh, or any other "major" players in the summer of 2010 anyways.

Carter is still a good player and with Yao, he will have much less responsibility and maybe he'll thrive under RA's system. Then imagine Yao, Tmac, and Carter possibly all on the same team. Tmac won't even have to score much anymore, just be an effective passer.

Yao is 28 turning 29 soon. For a guy his size, he won't dominate like most big men do into their mid 30's. I think we really only have 3-4 year window of winning a title with Yao now. We have to take advantage of that. We need to do something right now...

i agree 100%. but would you rather the rockets stand pat? they need to get something in return for ron, rather than let him walk this summer.

the only one i'd be estatic about would be the mike miller one. he adds another scoring option that we definitely need. i'm not real clear on how well he's done in his career defensively, but it's not like artest has made our defense that great. if we add another consistent scorer who can score in adelman's offense without having to have the ball in his hand constantly and that will outweigh anything we may lose defensively by moving artest.

i wouldn't mind carter at all on the court. but i don't like that he's signed through 11.

i'm very hesitant on the amare trade because i feel that's possibly upgrading at a position where we don't really need upgrading. scolandry have been the one pretty much consistent bright spot for us this year. it also doesn't make sense to me to weaken an already weaker position (point guard) to make a minimal upgrade, if that, at the pf spot which has been a strong position all season long.

Why don't you guys image what would happen if Rockets trade YAO for someones?

Did Yao show any positive contributions to Rockets at playoff time during past six years?

I would not do the Amare trade.

I would do the Carter trade.
I am skeptical on the Miller trade.

Why are we not trading T-Mac?
I can support Artest any day, but man... it's getting harder and harder to support Tracy right now.

Yao is pretty much untouchable for one main reason.

The market (Mainly Chinese) he brings to the Rockets. Thats $$$ for Les.

I wonder if Joe Dumars is still interested in TMac.
TMac for Rip Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince sure would look good right about now.

What I don't get is how Carter is attractive to Morey and Adelman. He's in his 30s now and expensive... does that sound like "Moneyball" to you?

Also, since when has Vince Carter and "ball movement" coexisted?

Management knows McGrady has no trading value right now.
