Only if getting Chandler prevented Yao from another injury.

if no stars sign here then yes lets pay him hopefully we can resign yao for cheap too, chandler can start yao and miller can split back up minutes... if yao holds up we waive millers 3rd year

I know this one hurts but imagine how OKC feels...
He would've anchored that team perfectly. Then the would've traded Jeff Green or James Harden for an upgrade at 4 (scola?) and that would vault them into top 5 team n NBA and true contenders for years to come.

Well this is a depressing way to start gameday.

I THINK Morey did all he could but something tells me that maybe something else could have been done. With Chandler we would be 29-25 and poised for the 5/6th seed instead of 25-29 and in danger of falling to 11th in the West.

Dallas are a better team and the Rockets don't have the calibre of PG that they do. If Brooks were healthy and Chandler a Rocket I don't think he'd have be as good as he is with the Mavs. Mikki Moore and the original Kmart agree.

It's already been said on here numerous times you not going to win in the NBA with just foreigners, white guys and undersized black guys in your front court. Rockets know this they just haven't addressed this issue in action yet. Brad Miller over Tyson Chandler while clearly knowing this issue was there is just a stupid decision. So we get what we deserve a losing to medicore season.

I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS ALL ALONG!! Morey blew it! He did not prusue Chandler hard enough. I felt he was playing hard ball once again and fell to see the significants in acquiring a legitimate 7' footer.

Millers was hurt last year, he only had a few good games and we through everything at him. His better days are behind him. I would have included a draft pick to get Chandler. Pairing him with Hill or Patterson would have carried us into the play-offs.

As good as the Chuck Wagon is, he is basically a BELOW the rim player and the good teams are going to exploit that! Scola is a below the rim player and so is Miller.

Dallas offered more of a salary dump, in Dampier, however I think if we would have offered Jefferies and Battier we could have had Chandler. Remember, he is only 27 yrs old. We could have matched him with Scola, Ariza, Martin and Lowry and that lineup alone would have got us there.

    Distorted view of reality:
1.) Didnt go after it hard enough? To get chandler you needed a salary dump. It didnt matter how much "harder" he tried. We didnt have a "DUST chip" Adding Battier does not make it any better.
2.) And when you say "get us there", I hope you mean nowhere, because thats an average lineup.

Hell getting Dampier for the $2mill a season especially with the way he shuts down Dwight Howard would have been intriguing. I know people mention certain players and Adelman need to go but how about "Fat Head" Morey? This guy clearly is not the genius he's made out to be and knows nothing about the game of basketball other than probability and statistics. He turned down Amare and Chandler due to them not meeting phyiscal screening standards? WTF is this. He's a class 1 idiot that is keeping this team back. Morey needs to go!!!

DUST in the end trumped everything we could offer, and that's what it comes down to. I remember Dallas fans actually prattling on how that trade could potentially net them Lebron, however.

It is one thing that makes Scola interesting however, in that the last year of his contract isn't guaranteed just like DUST. Is one more factor in moving him down the line.

And David Andersen. Don't forget about that key trade piece. ;)

The deal fell apart because Toronto didn't want to take back Andersen and his $2.5M for this season. Ironically, the Raptors did exactly that a few weeks later in a separate trade.

Wow!Just wow! This is even more painful to know.

Could it be though that the Rockets suspected that Chandler was "injury prone" until this his contract year where he has never had any injury, so far? Is it a coincidence that he is suddenly healthy all year or does DM know things about Chandler that made him wary of the acquisition?

Anyway, this is quite interesting overall.
