You would think so but, sadly, a good Lin game makes this board unbearable.

Totally agree with you. If Harden is going to play PG, trade Lin for a SG. Lin's skillset is much better at the PG position than the SG postion.

Flooding it with messages to tell Lin fans not to post is no better.

A bad Lin game is even worse. Instead of just fans, all the haters and their mothers come out too because everyone's got something to say.

I don't think having Harden play more like a true shooting guard makes this "Lin's team".

Hell it ain't even Harden's team. I do believe that it is at the very least arguable to actually have Lin and Bev manage the offense more. Doesn't have to turn into some Lin fans suck thing. Don't make it that way.

it is really not about who is starting... it is about how the coaches use Lin...I think when Lin and Bev are both on the court, the defense just kicked up another notch, they feed off each other... I hope when harden comes back, he can play off the ball a little more, give Lin more touches to initiate the offense...

It is already decided, it's Harden's team. Harden will be the center of everything.

Lin is whatever the team needs him to be on any given night.

    Thats it, mind made up.

I don't know if this is a serious statement(hard to tell over the Internet) but that is a losing strategy. Harden is our best player, but even Kobe in his prime couldn't be the center of everything and win a championship.

Harden can't play 40+ min a game, be the guy scoring 30+ pts, be the one responsible for handling the ball and distributing, plus play lockdown defense. I believe Harden is good enough to be credible at two of those three in any given game, but all three is too much for anyone not named MJ.

You're misunderstanding what I posted. I agree with you, Harden should be playing SG, but he is playing as the de facto PG with the Rockets. The coaching staff seems to be OK with this, therefore Lin, if he wants to succeed with his role on the Rockets, he needs to really work on being an awesome spot up 3 shooter and become as great as Bev on D.

OK, the Bev "great" D remark was sarcasm, in case fans were confused. I'm in the "Bev is vastly overrated defender camp".

Doesn't this remind anyone of that scene in Titanic where Leo is holding on to that red head chick?

So how would letting Lin run PG make this his team?

    Is Memphis Conley's team? Gasol + Z-Bo.
    Is OKC Westbrook's team? Durant.
    Is Portland Lillard's team? Aldridge.

Guess what, you can let Lin play his designated position and it can still be Harden's team.

Nobody said anything about it being Lin's team. The Rockets are better when he gets to play point. Don't be so insecure. Harden will still be our super star and Dwight too.

Except the numbers show the Rockets aren't better when Lin runs the point, as per clutch's article, among other stats.

A Guide On: How To Have Jeremy Lin Related Conversations On Clutch Fans

Response 1: Lin should be this team's point guard. The offense plays much better when this happens!

Response 2: But the numbers are clear, Patrick Beverly has a higher +/- rating than Lin when he's the starting point guard!

Response 3: Yeah, but that's only because Lin + Beverly are regulated to spot up shooters with the starting line-up because Harden is ball dominant. If you let Lin actually have normal point guard duties, the team would be better and so would Lin's stats, as he's playing to his strengths!

Response 4: You have no evidence to prove that! Harden is the best player on this team. We're a 4/5 seed in the West with this current system and you want Lin, who is an inferior player, to sacrifice Harden's role so he can "play to his strengths," and lead this team? Team first man!

Response 5: I'm not saying I want Lin to lead the team! I just want our point guard to actually be a point guard and our shooting guard to be a shooting guard, otherwise our backcourt is playing out of position and not maximizing their potential, and then we have to play Beverly, who has less talent than Lin, over him because of "fit!" when in reality, if we were coached properly, we'd have all our players in the right position to succeed!

Response 6: But the numbers are clear: Patrick Beverly has a higher +/- rating than Lin when he's the starting point guard! Stop making excuses!

Response 7: But the numbers are clear: When Beverly plays 30+mins, the Rockets have a 10-10 record. But when Jeremy plays 30+ mins, the Rockets have a 17-5 record!

Response 8: But the numbers are clear...! (etc etc) HOF, BOF, ROF, LOF, etc, etc

Repeat ad nauseam/until the end of time.
