Shawn was not under constant trade rumor when he was with suns and was only the last two yrs. He was not playing well by his talent and contract.

We're in agreement, my point is that the coaching staff onely wants D and spot up 3s from the PG position. Harden is the de facto PG, Bev or Lin are essentially undersized SGs in the Rocket's system.

Now you're talking and right at point. My argument with Lin is how he should be used correctly. I agree with your wish list mostly. You got to use Lin and JH in pnr but not for CP. CP should move and cut more not to handle the ball on top.

Not going to happen for a while for Bev. The consistent 3 pt specialists were all great shooters in the college days - JJ Reddick, Ray Allen, Kyle Korver, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, Jimmer Fredette , Stephen Currey, etc. I think this may have to do with the kind of gifted motor skill in accuracy that comes from one's DNA. Like Howard or Shaq, no amount of practise can change their accuracy. It is not in their DNA to be accurate from that far out.

From the above list, the only one we can have a chance to get for cheap is Jimmer Fredette, currently shooting close to 51% 3pts. I have been saying we should try to get him to come in as the 3pts specialist PG to complement Harden. If Lin is the back up PG, he can dish out to Jimmer too. The player who will benefit most is probably Howard. If he plays inside out with Jimmer, not many team will want to double him and he will be much more efficient in his post plays.

Thanks for noticing. I know what Lin can do when he plays aggressive. Not only can he give us another scoring option but he can get the defense in foul trouble. Bev is a spot up shooter at best and Brooks isn't worthwhile unless his shot is dropping. Lin will work on D too which isn't something Brooks is incapable of.

Exactly. When Jeremy has the ball in his hands he needs to play his game. He needs to implement the same thing that Harden does. Create his offense. Lin certainly gets to the rim better then Parsons but McHale went with Chandler twice at the end of the game against Memphis. Personally, I never want to see a play for Parsons run at the end of the game again. The only two guys who can get their own shot on this team are Harden and Lin. We will be so much better if Lin goes HAM like you said

    Great quote

That's exactly what I posted many posts ago. I am glad that we all agree that the only solution for Lin to find his mojo is by playing his game. As sb just said, JH will be out today. Hopefully he will.

That last Parsons play Friday night ticked me off so badly I almost spilled my scotch. Almost. You never ask Chandler to do that, even IF the play was originally a PnR or screen. Another note in my metal, "Is McHale getting it done?" doc.

I will have to agree with you again. What I stated before is to put his current struggle in perspective. His recent struggle is largely on himself, partially on his injuries and partially on how was used by coaching staff in the past a few games.

Your post just showed that most of us are all Rockets fans. We may disagree occasionally but we all wish Rockets' success:grin:

That would have been alcohol abuse if you spilled that good scotch. Lol Hey I was ticked off too. I thought Mchale would have drawn up something better than that.

Awful. And it was Lagavulin too. That would have started an anger spiral that could have achieved epic proportions.

This is the part where I don't understand. Why are people satisfied with low risk low rewards? That is fine if we only want to go to the playoffs every year but not if we want to win the championship.

Not advocating that Lin starts or anything, but that we should maximize the potential of our team. It is all on how the coaching staff manage the play time and roles of our best players.

Let's hope he leads us to a victory tonight. He should drop right in Harden's role. I'd rather him only take the 3 when the defense sags off. I really want to see him work at the rim with Howard and Jones. 20 and 8 for Jeremy and we beat the Spurs by 9. Lets get it

All his points were on threes and Chandler doesn't have a first step. Very frustrating.

McHale has to coach tonight. Lin in Harden's role. It isn't hard. If he screws it up then we all have a complaint

I doubt it, recently it's apparent that Lin is giving up the ball just for the sake of giving it up to another person. Either something is wrong with his leg and he is unwilling to attack or something is making his mind waver like trade talks. Before his injury, he was in attack mode at all time, but now he is in passing up the ball mode at all time. If trend dictates, tonight it'll just be as bad as the other games.

I have a good feeling that Lin is going to deliver a great game tonight. He matches up well against SA

Dude, we have no system. Stop pretending like there is one. It's so subtle as to be nonexistent.

I remember someone posted a analysis that Terence plays very well when Lin is in the game, while Parsons and Howard does not. It's either in this thread or another one.
