Last season, he averaged 14.9 points and 6.8 assists per 36, yeah, he's not a starting caliber PG.

But who cares, Bev brings energy and hustle, and he completely shuts down opposing PGs/best player!!! Rejoice!

Someone was saying that Parsons was the starter whose stats suffered with Lin on the court - can anyone post stats of Parsons with Lin starting/with Bev starting. That might be the more interesting comparison. I wish I knew how to find this - I'm trying!

All you do is make excuses for Lin.

Not sure either one is a "starting" NBA point guard. Seriously, both look like bench players.

Using FG% does not make sense. Use Efg% or TS%

You can find my in depth analysis on that here:

So what is your excuse for not using stat to debate Lin's ability to start for a team? These other guys are using stats to back up their claim whereas you are just making empty accusations without any material.

Lin should be good for any team without a ball dominant star and with a capable mobile big to play pnr with like he did with Tyson chandler. So make your picks with teams such as Detroit, Orlando (this is the ideal team for Lin), Milwaukee, NO, NY (they may have to trade away Melo though, haha), Toronto (if they are willing to swap Lowry for Lin), Celtic (if they don't want to keep Rondo), Utah (lots of young guys, Lin plays well with young guys), Minnesota (Lin is much better than Rubio in scoring), Lakers (what a wasteland there, good for Lin unless Black Mamba wants to play iso again next year at his advanced age, haha), Chicago (if Rose's injury is a done deal), Charlotte (where he can pair up nicely with Kemba). But ultimately, it is the poison pill contract which makes it hard for any team to swallow. Morey created his own poison pill for trading Lin & Asik.

I don't even get how anyone this season can equate Lin with "starting" PG, even in the games he started. He is asked to play SG in every half court setting. He is asked to do almost the exact same thing that Bev does, even though he has elite level driving and dishing skills as an actual PG. That makes no sense, regardless of if he starts and regardless of how many minutes he plays.

The coaches can not start Lin ever and only play him for 15 minutes if that's what they want to do, but to ask him to come in and play SG or SF is just plain ridiculous and insane.

I expect him to look like a scrub, bench player, border line NBADL player if that is what they want him to do....guard bigger SG and SF and pass the ball off at half court 90% of the time to everyone else on the team, including the centers and PFs at the top of the key. That makes no sense at all.

Was it not obvious that the LOFs were gonna avalanche Morey & associates in the way they're notorious for? It made sense to pre-empt that, or at least their explanation.

No, I don't consider this modus operandi an "accusation" against CF, but a normal way of announcement. That's how I'd have it done, too.

It's just their objective explanation for an internal decision (is it not obvious such a decision was made, and with statistical consideration?), not personal attack (as how it would be perceived by some if made through official website).

And although Lin was not the official starter (your mental error - no one made that statement), but had started for a month. Moreover, it was certainly possible they would trot out Bev 15-20 minutes off the bench, for one or two games, as is often done coming off injury.

    I think it's clear Lin:

    (1) Does not play 6th man. He does not even run the offense for the second unit.

    (2) Sucks as a 3 point shooter unless proven otherwise. His 3 pt shooting has almost completely regressing to his career average of 33%.

    (2) Isn't plug-and play (e.g., like an Aaron Brooks is). He is no good as a 25 min spare part.

    (3) Lin is a "special needs" player. He has confidence issues, needs the ball to be effective, still has presumptions about official role due to the linsanity business (i.e., expects to start, to finish, to receive a certain amount of minutes, to run the offense) or he gets disgruntled (as currently is). So he isn't actually humble but has an ego. He's not necessarily "high maintenance" in that way, but certainly not low maintenance, either.

. So he sucks as a 3 point shooter unless proven otherwise.

Ultimately, the only stats that matters, W/L.
    15-7 for Lin .687 versus 17-11 for Bev .607

Numbers are clear who should starts.
    Don't care about individual stats.
