The is the largest basketball forum with over 50k members before Lin ever joined. We even had to close registration a couple of times because so many new people were signing up... So no... I HARDLY believe that the 500 or so crazy Lin fans leaving will do anything.

But Clutch's revenue will go down drastically. Lin is good for Clutchfans. Stirring Lin ***** is very profitable for media outlets. Polarizing the fan base is the best thing ever as it creates controversies, attention and more media consumption.

That is all fine and dandy until race comes into play. Now, we are treading in dangerous water as hypocrisy and double standards start to cloud what could have been just a healthy dose fan bickering and friction.

If an US Olympic swim team fan web site is bombarded with fans of an up and coming black swimmer and the fans were arguing about whether he is better than another non-black swimmer, you know what would happen if fans were posting "all those blacks.." or "Blacks?" in comments, I bet moderators would immediately take precaution before it gets out of hand. Here we are, the owner of the website ended up taking sides. Stats or no Stats

You see, things get pretty clear once you put it in a different context.

I myself am slowly weaning myself off the Rockets. I am an old bird who was on the Michael Jordan's Bulls bandwagon since the late 80s mainly because I was living in Illinois. It was always the Cubs, Bears and Bulls. When Jordan retired and the Rockets won in 94 and 95, I became a Rockets fan. Then I moved to Vancouver BC and my new team was the Vancouver Grizzlies but still a Rockets fan. I was so excited when Steve Francis was drafted by the Grizzlies. SF3 refused to sign with the Grizzles and went to Houston. That pissed me off and I always rooted for any opposing teams that played the Rockets. The next year, the Grizzlies moved to Memphis and Shane Battier was drafted and I followed the Griz while watching the Rockets. The next year, Yao Ming was drafted. That's when I became a more involved Rockets fan. It became even better when Shane Battier joined the Rockets a few years later.
The Rockets were mediocre always tweeners with decent winning percentage but never went anywhere. I am willing to put up with that. Linsanity took me by surprise and I was like Spike Lee and everyone else fascinated with this whole thing and became a Lin fan because of all the adversities he went through. I also realized that Lin if allowed to develop properly can turn out to be a very solid NBA PG. The Lin was traded to Houston. Seems like all my favorite players always ended up in Houston.
Then all of this race ***** and stereotypes start to pour in, especially in the fan websites that I frequent. It was not that bad when I was lurking in NYKnicks websites during Linsanity. I seldom see Knicks fans knocking Lin. It was usually the opposing fans.
I am beginning to feel that Rockets fans are just a bunch of delusional fans. The 94-95 wins were just a 2 year fluke and all these years of swimming in mediocrity in the best the Rockets can do. The Rockets can’t even get past the 1st round of playoffs most of the time. Some of these fans, to come in here and stir some race ***** makes me think that since the Rockets will always be mediocre then what’s the point if you feel that the fan group you identified with for all these years despite though thick and thin turns out to be a group of shallow bigots. I was able to put up with the Yao Ming hate but this is getting ridiculous.

You basically admitted to being the epitome of a bandwagoner. I was going to say something but I can't even take you seriously. Have fun on the heat wagon .. Or whoever wins.

Its clear Bev should be starting. But everyone saying Lin should come off the bench to run the second unit must be kidding themselves. Even in the second unit Bev always runs it and Lin stands in the corner. I dono if that's just the game plan or if Lin's just demotivated or what, but he just seems so out of it. Might as well play AB over Lin if you just need a corner spot up shooter

    Ban this moron!

"Fluke"? You obviously don't know your Rockets-Bulls history from that era.

So you were a Bulls fan while they were winning three in a row, then a Rockets fan because they won the following two years? What, do you just become a fan of whoever won the previous year's title? I'm surprised you're not trolling a Heat forum somewhere.

Go back to rooting for the Cubs -- you deserve an historically bad team like that.

Tinman, come tear this fool a new one.

Yup a 20 year bandwagon. Thanks a long time. I think my bandwagon is older than you. I am slowing down the bandwagon to get off because we got sh**t people on it.

Umm...ok...so you're getting off because of the **** people on it? If there was a word for someone below a bandwagoner that is what you would be, because if want to jump off of the team for fans on a forum I doubt you were ever a fan of the team.

You admit to being a Bulls fan, then a rockets fan, then call it a fluke (don't know how you can call it that if you had actually watched it), then amongst a cluster storm join the Grizzlies (who had yet to do anything but you get on the rockets about being mediocre), then like Lin (and you don't believe a 10 game stretch is a fluke but believe back to back champiosnhips are...hint* hint* the knicks would have paid for Lin if they didn't think it was a fluke, the rockets did so they believed in him), and then you show up angry in this thread because Beverly is starting and you think people are disrespecting Lin.

You are obviously a troll, or a very sad case. I pity you.

Your moniker is a brilliant use of irony. You're about as iconoclastic as every other bandwagon fan.

That is literally all I read. I am perfectly fine with having someone like you off the wagon. In fact, I will be more than happy to kick you off the wagon all the way to whatever team fits your needs. Real Rockets fans don't need you hear nor will we miss you or even give a fart that you are gone. Begone!

#1 Please go become a Warriors or Knicks fan, you are not really a Rockets fan.

#2 Clutch spends more money on the Rockets (this site, travel, time) than he makes so... your band argument is not valid.... this isnt a buisness for Clutch, he doesnt support his family off of it.

Lol. This dude joined clutch fans named after clutch city and called those years a fluke ?

He's just as fake as the Lin fans.

I don't care if this guy wears a rockets shirt or goes to a rockets game, he's obviously not a real rockets fan.

A real rockets fan has clutch city is his or her heart.

Even if they never saw clutch city , they see the passion in dreams eyes or the pride Kenny talks with when he tells everyone on TNT about clutch city.

He should wear a rockets jersey with the name. b. Arnold on the back.

He's a fake rockets fan and we had nothing to do with that .
Plus I don't care if fake fans are mad or sad.

    Good.

We didn't make him jump on or off the bandwagon .

    We're not kris kross

You should wear pictures of asian food on your jersey because you can't stop posting it on the forum.
