I am not saying Beverly is better than Lin overall, he isn't though it is not that far apart, lin is the better offensive player, Bev the better defensive one.

I am saying on this team - with the way it is assembled, Lin can't be the starter - he is the same type of player as Harden, and needs the ball to be truly successful, so giving Lin the ball over Harden is not only not going to happen, it would also be extremely stupid.

Harden is on a much higher level as a basketball player than Lin, he is the best player on this team - so to take touches away from your best player would be mind numbingly stupid.

Lin is a starter in this league - just not on this team.

One of your most thoughtful and articulate posts ever. Bravo. I don't know about "much higher level" though, he's better no doubt, but Lin could probably give you 85% of harden's production.

NBA wowy numbers showing Lin in the starting lineup is outperforming offensively, but Beverley lineups is outperforming defensively and by a greater margin.

As such, numbers still show the Beverley lineup is superior.

Also not surprising that the numbers would dip since we just experienced a particularly brutal stretch of games.

Next time you compliment yourself on a different account, don't include your "DD" tag.

I agree - and I think Lin could be a lot more effective in the right situation, running the PnR a lot with a center that can finish for instance.

However, on this Rockets team that is going to be Harden - and Beverly is a good contrast to Harden - protects the ball, plays very tough defense - just a better fit with the starters.

I like Lin, like him a lot, was mad that Morey gave him away for nothing - but honestly, I hope for his sake and the Rockets they trade him this summer for a better fit with Harden and Howard, because asking JLin to stand outside for a 3pt shot is a waste of his skill sets.

Yea, I think Dadakota summed it up well. Lin's a starter quality player who has skill sets that overlap with a much better player in Harden.

can't handle some friendly trolling? you do realize there are many actual objective basketball fans who think highly of lin, not just your imagination of LOF's pumping up Lin in any way possible

Hah - if that were only true - I took that as him poking fun at my "DD" tag.

I don't have an alt account - well not anymore....at one point I started one called "Margrave" to see what it would be like - got banned for it.

Don't have any other alt accounts.

If I recall, the poster I was replying to was making an assumption of numbers based on the recent good play of Lin, which was a smaller sample than the original post by Clutch. And yes, I've taken many a math course for various degrees. Nice to see that condescending tone though.

I like Lin. Quality NBA player, but come on. Harden IS on a much higher level and being generous I think Lin could maybe give you 75% of what Harden does.

And I'm not saying Lin couldn't put up a stat line that is 75% of Hardens, I'm talking about overall talents. Efficiency, ability to get to the line and his iso ability are just on a whole other level.

ok, this is a bitter pill to swallow, but i'll take it gracefully...I'm impressed with Harden's improvement, particularly driving to his weaker hand

The lineups are clear .... Bev/Lin/Parsons/Dwight/Harden..... are your closers.

Video just showed he got held by James on the layup. 2 trips later James is pushing him with an elbow to the throat. Obviously a road game, calls are lopsided in this one.

So when he faked Lin out of his shoes and drained a three then just stole the ball from him on that drive, what did the video show?

Lin was -24 for the game.
